I'm trying to work out this ingredient: Chinese Egg Yellow Colour

  • Is this deal for a specific store or national wide?

    • +2

Looks to be nationwide, not associated to a postcode on the website.

If this guy negs and says it's good at this price, it must be good.

  • +1

BTW, log in if it comes up as unavailable.

  • +2

My local Woolies also has the Crazy Dragon Pork and Spring Onion Dumplings (200g) on clearance for $1 with a similar saving to the dim sims.

    • +1

Might be, but these are 550gr!!!

      • +1

I'm sure they both last for ages in carbonite!

  • Are you sure they are come from Hong Kong not China?

OK, saw it product of Australia from imported ingredients (from where?)

    • +1

Coming as unavailable for me, is this store specific?

    • My local Woolies had only Patties Mini Pizza Hawaiian 450g. Price tag in store said "Clearance - $6", but scanned as $1. Cheers for the find!

      • Atleast those would taste a heck of a lot better than these poor excuse for a Dim Sim.

  • +2

Contains different kinds of "meats" 😁

  • -1

How much cat is in these?

    • +3

enough to satisfy daily sodium intake

      • +2

Double what's in a meat pie.

  • nice! grew up with their bbq pork buns. Oh those were some good memories

    • grew up with their bbq pork buns

Oh .. please make sure you have body checked …

  • +8

I've tasted these before. I thought they tasted like crap and could barely eat it. I'm never eating those again even if it was free. It's probably why it's on clearance for only $1. It just tastes so awful.

    • +2

      Yep, they are garbage

    • +2

Agree with you. However a bargain to others who only cares about cost per meal

    • -1

yep these don't just taste bad they taste really bad

  • Yea it's coming up as unavailable online

    • +3

Save your $1 any how. I can tell you these dim sims taste awful. I'm assuming this is why they are being cleared off so cheap. It would have likely ended up in the rubbish bin.

  • Winter is here! For one more day…

  • +2

Unfortunately these are disgusting, fatty and soggy.

    • +2

Yes, i second that, disgusting taste. Who can stomach it. The dinner would probably come back up again.

  • +2

Product of Australia sounds like packed in Australia from ingredients from china.

    • Food imported from China, no thanks. Who knows what sort of disgusting crap is in it.

      • -1

You might get sick out of it…. I hope they didn't make them with gutter oil or some inferior ingredients such as fake egg york, injected hormones in the meat, rotten veges, all sorts of disgusting stuff

They even name it as Hong Kong Dim Sim.

It's very bad because China is taking advantage of good image of Hong Kong and ruin its food quality image

        • +3

It's called Hong Kong Dim Sim because the business was founded by immigrants from Hong Kong.

  • -1

Tried these. They're not bad for half price and definitely worth it for $1.

All taken at Berala woolies NSW.

    • If you don't mind eating some thing which tastes like old seaweed.

  • +3

These dim sims have a unpleasant aftertaste, to be honest taste terrible.

  • +3

I bought these when on OzB a year or so ago….. Yuk, tastes like spam is the secret ingredient and I wouldn't eat them again and threw them out.. Very yuk

  • +2

    These tastes like ass.

The texture is really weird and leaves like a strange ammonia like aftertaste on your tongue. Threw the whole bag out instantly even though it was well before the expiry date.

  • +2

I think these would taste best deep fried. I've tried them steamed and couldn't stand it. Kind of tasted like a soggy sausage roll with cabbage.

    • +2

I don't think these would taste good under any circumstance.

  • I was at the Sunshine store and was hoping to grab a pack or 2. There I saw this lady busy emptying all the dim sum into her basket (about 20 packs or more). I just walked away, wished I got there like 5 minutes earlier.

    • Did you thank the lady for sparing you the agony of awful, disgusting, ammonia aftertaste ?

      • +1

I didn't but there is hoping she is reading this post now and will be commenting soon.

  • But other stuff was also $1. $1 muffins, and $1 crazy dragon dumplings varieties.

  • Terrible taste.

  • me too. I still have some packs left in the fridge, never want to try again.

    • You do have a garbage bin.

  • these are delicious, can't believe I missed this post when I just went to Woolworths

    • +1

Some people say that grubs are delicious too.

  • These are fine. 2 mins high from frozen. $1 not brilliant, but good enough. What can I say, it's dim sum frozen minced steamed pork with cabbage. What do you expect these to taste like? A typical dim sum you get from your high school canteen or train station? Actually better than that. Don't see why there's so many complaints. I had low expectations but they were exceeded.

BTW the Golden Wok mini chicken mini dim sum are delicious. They go for half price every now and then.

  • dammit these were back to $5.5 today
