That is an insanely good price.

  • I use one daily, great laptop, only considerations are large bezels and a small right shift key

    • IS there a pen available to draw on these? Can I run Photoshop on this - presuming yes? TIA.

      • +1

Available separately for $39 pretty good runs on aaaa, trouble is finding a case to carry it

      • +1

The integrated Intel HD Graphics processor may limit your Photoshop capabilities.

        • Thanks…. taking it off my cart now….

        • @shiraj: If you're doing quick edits in simple PSDs it should be fine, but anything major and it would lag.

  • +1

Thoughts on this for a school laptop?

    • -4

Overkill, performance -wise. The lightness is a plus, though.

      • I don't understand how it's overkill for a school laptop, which require you to install software, not just a browser these days.

This is a mid-range laptop, not even at the high end of mid range, no dedicated GPU.

        • Yeah, this seems pretty perfect to me, and quite future proofed. Should easily last the 5 years no problem(if not broken haha)

    • +3

good performance, good battery life. good storage/ram. Lite as too. Go for it.

I got a Yoga 700 (Orange) model. I am not sure about the build quality tho. The screen got cracked without any drop. Now obviously the touch screen doesn't work. I would really appreciate if anyone had similar problem and was able to find a replacement screen for a reasonable price.

      • I got a white yoga 700. No issues so far. light, great battery life. Been overseas couple of times. No issues with the screen cracking.

Like all thin units, they won't like to bend/flex in ways they hadn't meant to. Was this maybe the case with you?

        • +1

Yeah I think so. It was cracked while it was inside the backpack :(

        • +2

@dealspider: yeah crap happens sadly. I have a notebook backpack, so has lots of extra padding etc. But Make sure not to over stuff it, so the screen is protected!

anything thin = fragile these days :(

Other than that, I like the unit lots!!!

    • I have been shopping around for a school laptop, and decided to stick to a business grade laptop due to its durability and one without touchscreen. Almost bought Lenovo Thinkpad T470S but had issues using my Amex card for cash back, ended up getting Dell Latitude 7280 from the Dell outlet.

  • +7

I dont need this. Damn you OzB for forcing me to buy it

    • user name checks out

    • +1

      Enjoy your new laptop :)

    • congrats!

  • +1

    ram and ssd are upgrade-able?

    • +1

Says here that RAM isn't upgradable but storage is.

    • Ram should be fine for most usual uses though? Only really video/photo editing will struggle, and there's no graphics card so those are moot.

  • HOw does this compare to surface pro?

    • +1

      3x cheaper. Works the same.

      • Is it really? $2400 for m5 model with 8GB/256?

    • +1

Surface pro has better display, this looks like better specs.

      • It's an m5. SP has i5 and i7. Will cost more though.

    • If you dont mind the lower base clock of the M5 processor, this looks like much better value for money. Plus, this should be more "lapable" compared to a surface pro.

  • -4

Upgrade to 16b ram, 8 is asking for pain

    • +8

While upgradable ram would be nice for its intended purpose 8GB is fine.

    • best of luck with that…. has soldered RAM.

  • Don't even tempt me lol my budget won't cover this!! But it's such a good price lol!!

Torn between screwing the budget and getting something else

    • +15

Just wait about 10 mins and then it will be sold out and you won't have to worry.

      • Spot on doweyy!

        • +1

It was given the ozbargain touch :)

      • lol great call!

      • And now its back in stock again and the temptation starts all over again after the regret of missing out last time…

        • Haha I know! I'm sorry for the temptation, save your pennies friend!

        • @doweyy: Hahaha I'm in the market for a new 2 in 1, I'm just not sure I want to pull the trigger yet! Its such a good deal though, and I can afford it…

        • @pennypincher98:

Haha it's ultimately your choice, but could $800 go better elsewhere? hmm..

        • @doweyy: Haha $800 could definitely go better elsewhere that is the point!!
Might see if I can find a deal for maybe ~$500-600 with a slightly less expensive processor. Then I'll be saving like $200-300 lol

  • +1

The e570 at $791.20 is a great price, I got one recently and would definitely recommend it.

  • What do you use laptop for?

    • +8

      OzBargaining

      • I use my desktop as it's easier to multitask.

        • +1

That's why you buy two desktops…

  • +1

    and its gone

  • +5

All sold out. I've watched it from 8 or so available til it sold out - couldn't pull the trigger lol.
I asked myself if $800 bargain is still a bargain if I hardly use it, and the answer is no. Better leave it to the guys who really need the lappie. Hold the funds for bargain DJI Mavic.

  • +1

    Oh I missed it!

    • +2

damn I couldve bought it for you lol

      • +1

No worries! Ozbargainers will get their bargains in the end! Missed one, more is coming.

        • You are damn right!

  • ozbargained

  • OMFG I missed a great deal again!

  • I am looking at thinkpad yoga 460 coming down to $1,184 with 20% discount. Is this the lowest price todate? is this machine a good value for the price?

  • FYI for those interested can get Used Surface Pro 4 - 128gb i5 4gb Ram US565.55 (~713 AUD) from amazon delivered

  • It's back! I get it. They get it back and it was 1200+, after about 30 sceonds, adjusted to 999. Happy ozbargain!

    • Lol now it's been adjusted up to $1,699. They really can't get their pricing together today.

    • Back up to 1699 now. My brother was just about to pay for one and it jumped back up in price.

      • That's definitely too much for what you're getting (m5). You can get SP4 i5 8/256GB for about $1.3-1.5k. Add a keyboard for about 60-something from amazon if you don't mind their football logos.

  • +1

Guess I'll buy more headphones instead then.

  • If the price is jumping all over the place today, is that an indication they might not honour any purchases?

    • The price will be honoured, it's still $999 on their website so they must just be having ebay pricing issues.

      • By "pricing issues" you mean, forgot to raise it?

        • Correct.

    • Yeah suddenly it's back in stock, like magic. But with a $1699 list price.

  • 1,699.00 now

    • It's still 999 on Lenovo site, call it $700 discount.

  • The price of E570 is also $1,549.00 now.

    • E570 has dropped back to $989 again

  • +1

The following two seem like good deals for those that missed out on this with 20% off and don't mind the 12.5" screen. Limited stock quantities so not posting. Note this is an old generation as well.

    Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 260, i3, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD $559.20

    Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 260, i3, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD $639.20
