Anyone got a tasty slow cooker recipe they want to share?
Weber Kettle over charcoal and Applewood
I'm already salivating at the thought
Cherry master race.
if you don't have a smoker because you are a bad person who hates mateship and freedom, you can do pulled pork in a slow cooker. This is the lazy stoner method.
Halve two onions, put them on the bottom, put pork on top.
Cover pork in brown sugar.
Pour like 1/3 to 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar over it.
Dump in about a quarter cup of worcestershire.
Turn on the slow cooker and go to bed.
In the morning, pull out the pork, shred it.
strain the liquid into a saucepan, add 1/2 cup of tomato sauce (and some liquid smoke if you have it), simmer.
Thicken with a corn starch slurry.
Simmer til it's as thick as you want, add some garlic powder if you have it, spice it up with cayenne pepper or chipoltle in adobo or tabasco or bad language.
I found that Tasman meat seems to be lower quality than my typical asian butcher. anyone found the same ? Ive only been to Tasman twice but that was enough to put me off.
yeah its cheap ass meat for sure. All the beef is yearling and its relatively tasteless.
Worst was when I bought a lamb rack 2 days before xmas. Got it out of the fridge xmas morning to cook it and it stunk when I opened the pack. Turned it over and the whole underside was green.
So what happened next?
Apart from almost throwing up from that rotten meat smell, I just had to bin it. We were leaving early the next morning going camping for 2 weeks. So they escaped my wrath.
wash slime off under tap add aromatic spices. and treats for the mother in law who says your wife could have done better than you…..
but seriously …. christmas time ….. summer ……. hot days you need chiller in car to transport meat on some of those days …..
@garage sale:
well no. I bought 2 racks, and the other one was just fine. both had the same exp date. Also 10 minutes tops to get home.
Beats choking a chicken or plucking a duck.
Goes well with slapped salami.
Good price, but I prefer to pull what local places tend to call pork neck.
No bones or rind to deal with, the best places I found are the butchers in Springvale.
