Have you checked your form or asked someone to help you?
It could be a simple change to your exercise or form which may help.
Also, looking down into a phone or book for an extended period may contribute to your neck soreness.
+1 to this.. i used to get neck pains from overhead press and lateral raises because i was craning my neck during the lift. I'm now mindful to consciously avoid doing this and the pains have gone away.
I get neck pains from the gym also. Little shorts on fit women in the gym are causing the problem.
You need to get with the times, smartphone and video.
I end up with torn elbow as well due to same reason :-x
