    Banking Domain Application Testing

Two years too late but CBA thanks you anyway.

I don't always test, but when I do, it's always in production.

      That's called a PILOT.
      Production In Lieu Of Testing.

      You must for for Microsoft.

    • I prefer the Leeroy Jenkins UAT method.

  • Looking for an entry level testing role in melbourne. Any suggestion/ help guys ?? Thanks

Best thing I can suggest is to apply for jobs. 👍

    • +2

Start to attend the meetups in Melbourne and get your name out there. Hiring is often based on who you know.
Also in preparation for future advancement, start to learn the basics of a coding language.
Manual testing jobs exist, but the market is moving to automation.

Books like this won't result in a job, but they will teach you common terms. Good luck!

      • Thanks azzanz.. :)

      • Any particular meetup group(s) suggestion?

        • I would recommend Melbourne Software Testing Meetup Group (MST) http://meetu.ps/c/cg4W/8VzvT/d on Meetup

        • @azzanz: Thanks. Will join. New to this market with over 7 years manual testing experience. Still trying to nail a job interview! :)

    • Good to know that you have learnt testing in 1 day.
Now just keep an eye on How to Get a Job in 90 Days https://www.amazon.com/How-Get-Job-90-Days-ebook/dp/B00QH0PF…
Grab it as soon as someone posts here at OzBargain.
You will have a job in just 91 days (+ waiting time). Not bad in my book.

No wonder there are so many "test managers" at my work

    • +1

The 'learn to be a test manager' ebook is 2 days though. That's why they get paid twice as much as testers…

Oh look I read a book for a day and learnt a profession…said no one ever.

    • If the book says 1 day, It is 1 day. But to learn it quickly, you may need some other stuff which OP forgot to mention like your old time machine. its not book's fault if u don't have it. its not like its a book for dummy's.

      • The head first complete idiot dummy's guide to learning everything you ever wanted to know in 24 hours from beginner to expert.

  • Dayumm. I want to see this as a pie chart for the one day. 100+ types of software testing. That's about 15 minutes max each.

This is basically a plagiarised ISTQB course.

Great thing about ISTQB is it gives a few ideas on where you may be lacking in process. The other great thing is that you can throw most of it out when you start actual testing…

    • second that. Just went through the course fairly recently

  • It's not free now.
