Seems like a bargain to me, next cheapest I could find is on Ebay for $140 with the spend over $100 take $20 off deal. Will need an adaptor to charge the clipper as it will be a US plug. Found one at Bunnings for $8 so total will be $115.49, or $109 with Cashrewards.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.

I've got a wired one bought from the shaver shop for about 109 or 119, can't remember exactly, other than it's a lot heavier than same level Japanese brands, it's quite easy to use. Definitely recommend this brand.

    • Would that be the blue and white one. The Colour Pro? Or whatever it is called.

I'm currently looking at the Li-On Cordless version if so. Currently $129 at Shaverhop eBay store. Waiting for a good discount to bring it sub $100.

      • i bought the 5-star magic clip. red and chrome, and it was on special and out of stock in most of the stores.

Bought a similar corded version with aussie plugs here for $95 plus delivery, unfortunately its out of stock at the moment. Cuts through the thickest bush like butter.

The only issues I have with it is the height lever is pretty flimsy and it's loud as f*&^k due to the power of the v9000 motor under the hood.

  • Can I just replace the power cable? Does it have "external" DC power adapter?

Just be aware that as this is the cordless version the motors are completely different to the permanently corded ones, which use a magnetic motor. They're not directly comparable.

See here for an interesting rundown on the popular clipper motor types (not the greatest sound quality):

Thanks for the link @daver01 - really useful info.

Looks like the cordless comes with a regular rotary engine.

I just bought a replacement balder as I dropped the my old one and cracked the case.
In my quest for a new one ….. it seems that some americium models have metal cases, all australian models have plastic cases ….. turns out the reason is that the Australian models are double insulated, no earth …… which doesn't seem to be an issue in the USA. So just be aware that if you bring in USA models of the corded, besides the 110V (they have 220v models), you will have issues with no earth and metal housing .

I "cut" my losses and bought one from an Australialian outlet ……. I considered a European 240V but they cost more than local stock.

Costco sells a very good one for less.
Corded though but better than battery ones that have no power.

  • Wahl warranty if purchased from US is worthless in Aus as they wont cover it

    • +1

companies usually don't cover foreign warranties if they are different products eg the australian. versions are double insulated for corded, usa are not so you wouldn't expect wahl australia to carry spare usa clippers in australia and even with the cordless versions you wouldn't expect them to carry usa chargers in australia so they couldn't do swap overs……….so with some items it pays to buy in the right country.

      • Same product as sold here, the ion bread trimmer, US said Aus should cover it, but Aus refused and said I had to send back to amazon.
