EGO 56v Leaf Blower with 2ah Battery and Charger Kit ($269) @ Home Timber and Hardware

80

Visited my local store and was advised by the local staff a 2015 model EGO 56v leaf blower is going on sale for the upcoming father's day. Am shown by a staff of the upcoming catalogue unfortunately I did note take not of the sale period. The store I went to was at is 21 Park Road, Cheltenham in Victoria.

Would appreciate your thoughts if the Ryobi 36v leaf blower or this is a better product?

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2017.

  • Would appreciate your thoughts if the Ryobi 36v leaf blower or this is a better product?

The EGO is more powerful, better quality and a better design but it depends like do you have a Ryobi 36V investment already?

The current model is $379 in kit form with a 2.5Ah battery TradeTools

The 2.0Ah battery by itself is $149, the charger $109 and the blower $219.

    • I own a ryobi 36v 5ah battery (bought from gumtree recently). Need to source for a charger, but it will depend if I want to invest in ryobi 36v system…

  • EGO vs Ryobi blowers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TkcMYcLF4w

I have both EGO and Ryobi products, for power hungry applications (chainsaw etc) I wouldn't go lower than 56V and EGO does those very well. Great warranty is a plus.

  • Owned the blower for a while, plenty powerful enough, batteries seem to last well. Picked up the chainsaw and whipper snipper during the Masters close down, all the products have been great.

  • It's the old model, but still a good price

  • Does it have the EGO line trimmer on sale as well?

    • +1

Not that I can see on the broucher. The only ego product is the ego blower.

  • Make sure you get the larger line trimmer. The small one is useless… Bigger one is decent.

    Leaf blower is a beast…

    Lawn mower is nice.

  • It's a great product. I am using the mower and the trimmer as well. All the first gen products but it does a great job. No messy fuel spillage or fumes ever again.

  • FYI I've got one of the blowers and had to already send the battery for warranty replacement. These are powerful but also pretty heavy. Unless you are blowing twigs, I would've gone for the smaller compact Ryobi ones.

    • What wrong with your battery?

The 2016 530cfm model is pretty heavy (approx 3kg+). Intend to get a blower to blow twigs. My neighbour gumtree drop lots of crap on my side given the strong winds we have in Melbourne recently.
