    • I never even received a second email

      • Just received it, said I didn't use a matching domain email address and should try again with a matching one….

  • i just got reject by Amazon, no reason.

    • Same here, and according to all their T&C's theres no reason why it should of.

      • Cause ya both negged it……lol

        • Yeah, negged it because it got denied for literally no reason.

  • Got rejected.

I haven't received any email correspondence as yet, but I just checked the credits section (https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home?#/credits) and there's $1000 credit! It has an expiration date of 31/08/2019.

I have no idea how long that has been sitting there for. The only thing I did was update billing information yesterday (as per the OP), but I never checked for credits until now. Thanks OP!! This will come in handy for my humble start up :)

    • You currently have no redeemable credits.

      :(

    • what do you mean you updated billing information yesterday (as per the OP)? is it a requirement to update your billing info?

      • The billing info wasn't up to date so I updated it. I was just pointing that out as there was not other reason I could pin point on why it was approved, other than the fact that the business is a legitimate start up.

  • rejected despite meeting criteria.

    • How do you the application got rejected, did you get E-mail?

      • yes got an email saying it was not accepted or something generic

  • Lucky, mine was approved last night. I can see the $1000 credit on my billing console.
Not sure if it made a difference but when I noticed in the initial application confirmation email from AWS, there were 3 hyperlinks to learn about AWS and they looked like they have embedded unique id within the url, which I thought they may be tracking, so I clicked on them anyway.

    • that could possibly be it. i didnt click them. oh well!

  • Mine also came through as approved.

  • Mine rejected too. They give no reason. Anyone know why?

    • How do you the application is rejected, did you get E-mail?

  • they found me is a free tier user and has serval years experience with AWS, thats maybe the reason for rejection

    AWS Promotional Credits
We've applied $1,000 in AWS Promotional Credits to your account. To view your credit balance, applicable services, and expiration date, log in to the AWS Billing and Cost Management console and click on "Credits."

Lucky me, I was approved back on the 18th of Aug

Now I'm currently trying to upload 2TB worth of DNA sequencing data via my home broadband connection. Which caps at 2Mbps (1.5Mbps effectively). Only going to take 4374 Hours, 30 Minutes and 13 Seconds, if all goes well. SO only half a year, good thing the credit has a 2yr expiry.

Might need to use the AWS Snowball. Costs "seem" to be included as eligible spend for the credit, but can't tell if that's just the xfer once they have the snowball.

    Does anyone know for sure?
