This is $42AUD for a product that costs £20 ($34AUD). Normal price is $60.

For those visiting Europe and heading to U.K. first, I would definitely recommend waiting until you get get there and visiting a Three store (10 minutes to set up).

For those visiting other parts of Europe, it's worth looking into local sims for each country if you're staying in certain countries for a while.

    • Hi Jjjaar,

We go through alot to provide this SIM to Aussies before they go: but yes you are definately correct - if you are going to UK first then buy it when you land as ThreeUK shops will sell it for 20pound and resellers for 30 pound.

This sim caters to people who want a high amount of data and are going between multiple countries in Europe and who don't want to be buying, activating and swapping sims all the time.

You are paying a little extra for convenience :)

      Thankyou for your advice

  • God dang it. I literally bought the full priced one today on eBay :(

    • So you neg'd this deal?

      • Incorrect.

Used a three roaming Sim in Europe in July. Reception was not great in London but was fine in Europe. Cant tether though which was annoying as we wanted to be able to hotspot to our other devices.

    • hi Imp,

Yeah the 'no-tethering' rule is frustrating. ThreeUK put it in place for financial reasons.

The data only SIM is the alternative if you want tethering - however supply is short.

      • can i ask which sim that would be? and any idea which mifi device would be best to use with it?

        • You can find information on it from our website and on ThreeUK website also.

          https://soeasy.travel/collections/uk-and-europe/products/thr…

There is also a 3GB version that lasts a month.

I am not sure which mifi device best suits but from personal experience I like Huawei - easy to use, good price (find them on ebay)

          Hope that helps!

        • I had the Three 'Internet with Legs' Sim. It is a great product - just disappointed no tethering.
          Would get it again

    • I was in the UK & Ireland beginning of this year and used this same Three sim due to the 12GB of data, I had the kids tablets using my phone as a hotspot with no issues.

      • July it definitely didnt work. I rang and asked about it and was directed to their terms and conditions which now has it in there no tethering. I thought that tethering was allowed when I bought it some months before so they must have changed it

        • Strange you couldn't get it to work. I use 3 everytime I go back to UK as they have best coverage at my parents house, the kids always use my phone as hotspot.

    • Could I ask whether you were using Apple or Android?

      • Using Android, HTC 10 and the kids Samsung tablets.

  • What is the departure date for?

    • Just so we know when you are leaving to ensure we get the sim to you before you go.

      • thanks

  • I've managed to get mine to Hotspot somehow, didn't work first time but works now…

    • Depends on how the device shares the connection as to whether 3 can block it or not.

I'm currently in the UK and I purchased this sim my first day here, totally worth it regardless of if you buy it in Aus or the UK.

I've also had no problems regarding tethering and hot spots for my partner with my Oneplus 3T

  • Travelling to Europe next month and was waiting for this deal to come back again!

I'm a little confused though, advertised as 12GB data, but reading the 3 website:

In our Feel At Home in Europe destinations, usage above 12GB (9GB on Pay as you Go) is subject to surcharge… (three.co.uk - see "What's not included?" towards the end)

It probably won't matter that much, but I just wanted to clarify - is it 9 or 12GB?

    Thanks!

      Hey Misselty!

Just to clarify it's 9GB (I'll quickly edit that)

      • Thanks! :)

      • Dodgy advertising in picture. Needs a further 25% discount since it's 3gb less

  • Will be in Italy for 3 weeks shortly, I have some questions as this might save me a visit to a TIM store.
If I want to make calls with this sim within Italy, can I do this or do I need to buy extra top up credit beforehand?
Otherwise I presume I can use something like messenger or Whatsapp to call people using the data?
If family in Italy want to call me on this sim will they be able to and will it cost me to receive calls?

    • Hey Breaker,

Spot on! If making calls to an Italian number you'll need to purchase credit beforehand :)

Most definitely you can use messenger/WhatsApp, we find most of our customers use the data for contacting friends/relatives. However a lot of people will purchase extra credit in case of a emergency.

It will depend on on their phone plan - some plans will include calls to UK numbers (They will need to check) it won't cost you anything to receive calls.

      Thanks!

      • Hi
What mobile bands will this sim work on? I have have an unlocked ex Telstra Samsung galaxy S5 and want to make sure it will work.
        thanks

        • +1

I think that's a call to 3 you need to make as an online chat call.
The OP sells them but doesn't have all the info 3 do.
I personally talked with 3 (online chat) earlier today, the CSR was friendly helpful and efficient.
While he wasn't able to tell me what bands were used in each country of interest, he did tell me which carriers are used.
Then I guess it's down to a bit of leg work.

        • @rayski57: thanks for your feedback
