Looking for a while to buy the sony MDR 100 ABN and stumbled on to addicted to audio's website. Cheaper than a grey import delivered for $249 albeit only in black.

wow…
Rates higher than bose equivalent according to choice review.
How does the noise cancelling compare to the Sony MDR-1000X Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones?
MDR-1000X is also on special at $488, but have been cheaper elsewhere.1000X has better noise cancelling ( as great as QC35) and some more cool features (gesture control. etc)
sound quality is at the same level. For what it's worth choice rates nc listening quality the same but the 100 rates higher with nc off.
Now I'm confused. @Arsene says the noise cancelling is better, but Choice say it is the same?
Some audio of what to expect with noise cancelling enabled on a range of headphones would be very useful.
Choice uses a panel of 5 experts, subjective but I wonder what arsene bases his rating on? Anyway 100 rates better overall and is cheaper so I think it's a no brainer.
I bought a pair of these during the boxing day sales for around the same price. Use them everyday and rate them 10/10 for ease of use, comfort and NC. Good microphone on them as well so taking phone calls works well. Definitely recommend.
This is a good price. Could someone please elaborate on the differences (particularly in NC) between this model and the 1000x?
NOT A DEAL! 199 at SONY STORE BEFORE
Wireless?
Edit: You are right. Can you find a better deal at this point in time?
Yeah, and the Bose QC35's have been $250 once before, but that doesn't make them a bad deal when they're $350.
but that was like so hard to get, 199 was around for like 2 months
So I can go to the Sony store right now and buy them for $199?
@psyclone1982: possibly, depends on which store, you should try at your local and show them a picture. I can pm you a receipt
You wish. These headphones are currently $499.95 on the Sony store right now. You must be currently dreaming that $199 price. Plus they don't even have stock of the black model right now. Only the Pink and Blue is left in stock.
@hollykryten: I'm talking bout the sony kiosk i can pm you a receipt you fa
After that $250 Bose QC35 deal, I feel dirty if I have to pay more than $300 for it from now on.
Was that $250 deal actually genuine Bose QC35 and not one of those counterfeit QC35 from Asia?. Like hello there Malaysian sellers with your dodgy counterfeit Bose QC35!.
@hollykryten: Yes. A mate of mine got a pair.
They look and appear 100% genuine, but it may not be a real genuine. Your friend may be fooled into thinking it's genuine. You've really got to watch out when buying these cheap QC35 from Asian sellers most if not all of them would be totally counterfeit.
This shows a counterfeit QC35.

And how to tell if it's a fake.
You mean this deal.
Are they poor man's 1000X ?
Good set of cans. Bought them for $250 at Xmas from Sony website. Use them daily, NC is good and sound quality very good. Recommended if your budget can't stretch further.
Seems like a good deal since there's no better price at the moment right.
I had one from their boxing day sales for $199.
NC is pretty good expect I found it can't cancel wind noiseAny one know when this deal going to finish?
Just purchsed one from Sony Store, they agreed to price march.
Which Sony Store was it?
Keen to know that too
Castle Tower Level 2 Sony kiosk
Bought a pair after doing extensive research, addicted to audio seems to be very good in terms of price and customer service. Will update when they arrive.
Let me know how they are. I have come so close to pulling the trigger multiple times since the deal was posted.
Received them today, they provide free express post delivery therefore it'll arrive the next day its dispatched.
The team at Addicted to Audio is very responsive so don't worry about that.Headphone wise, I've listened to them for around 15 minutes and the sound quality seems very solid. Build quality wise it seems very study and is quite weighty however not heavy enough to make it uncomfortable, Bluetooth connectivity is fast and strong. The sound quality is apparently very similar or maybe even better than the Bose however the the ANC isn't as good but this is the first pair of ANC headphones i've owned so i can't compare.
There is a very slight buzz when your not listening to any music with the headphones on and your ears might get a little warm while listening for a long duration.
Although my phone doesn't currently support LDAC apparently Android 0 (8.x.x) will support a wide range of bluetooth audio codecs into LDAC.
I've haven't owned them long enough to give a proper review however if this is in your budget and your looking for a quality headset then i'd recommend them.
After using them for a while, the sound is phenomenal. Theres about 7 left since i checked, i recommend youd pick it up if you sre looking for a quality bluetooth headphone.
I got one from The Sony Kiosk at Parramatta Westfield.
Price matched to Addicted to Audio.
Wear them on the train and great so far.
Just ordered a pair online, thanks OP!
And is that a bargain??? How much does it normally cost?
