  • Lenovo with backlight keyboard is a good deal

Don't forget the 7% cash rewards!

    • How do I get this?

      • Hmm, I'm guessing since I've already bought it's too late

        • You will have to go through cashrewards before you make purchase.

  • is the T series still the better lenovos nowadays?

  • Which is the Lenovo model closest to a top spec mac air

    • ThinkPad 13? However currently there's no i7 option, slightly heavier (1.44kg vs 1.35kg) but cheaper, more customisable, and more up to date specs.

I'm waiting for this deal to repeat itself: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/316233

Do you have an AMEX? if you do, this is a far better deal…

      • +3

You can get an extra 8GB ram and extra 1TB drive … not to mention 7% CR cashback.

        • +2

I opted for the bigger 256GB SSD instead of the 1TB spinning rust

        • @dan199: Why not get the 128GB SSD for OS and the 1TB for data?

        • +1

@joshuah: I'm guessing I can always add the second drive myself later. Besides this is actually for my parents, 256GB should be plenty for a while

      • I don't, that's why I'm waiting for the previous deal to repeat itself.

    • I myself missed on that

  • Cheers @Jimmy007!

  • How does this compare tp the t470? I heard the t series is more durable.

    • I'm thinking of getting.
      ThinkPad T470
      Part No.20HDCTO1WW
Upgrade of $50 for SSD Hard Drive
      Total $1,349 (with Amex $1,099).

      • Keeping an eye out for T470p to drop.
Build quality on model T is great Quite pricey though.

  • How does the 1050 2gb compare to the 1050 4gb?

    • +8

      Less 2 gb

    • -1

Likely no difference unless you were to use an external monitor with a higher resolution.

    • I want to know how it compares to 970.

  • +2

Looks a good deal with the AMEX offer.

One question - why would they put the trackpad so far to the left? Is this to promote the upcoming International Lefthanders Day 2017?

    • Not to promote that

    • +1

It's on the left but its still at the center of keyboard. As there numeric pad on right that's why it seems to be on the left.

  • Bought the E470 deal last week. Got this message on Paypal today

    What does this mean?

This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your payment method will cover the payment. Your payment method will be charged when Lenovo (Australia and New Zealand) Pty Limited completes your order.

  • +1

I got the same message. I think it just means that the amount you pay for the laptop has been taken off your credit limit, but that money hasn't been delivered to Lenovo yet, and will be delivered later (probably until they are ready to ship, or some other time).

It's a bit like staying in a hotel where they take your credit card details when you check in and pre-authorised a certain amount so that if you happen incur extra fees during your stay, they can charge your credit credit card for that amount.

    • That seems reasonable. I really hope my order is fulfilled quickly as mine hasn't shipped yet and it said 2 business days from Friday.

  • What kind of gaming can you expect to do on this? Do you need to turn everything down to minimum settings?

    • No, the 1050 Ti (even the mobile 2gb version) is more than sufficient for high - ultra settings at 1080p (depending on the game) at 60fps.

The 1050Ti is a great budget / low power card especially for a laptop.

  • LEnovo15 is not working.
after applying no discount at all. 1478.00
    any idea?

    • It does work… make sure your order total is over $1500 for LENOVO15 to work… i.e. make sure you add the 1TB HDD, or make it 256GB SSD.

      • Ok.thanks mate.

    • 1500+ reqd

  • Same here the lenovo 15 code is not working

    • See comment above.

  • Code does not work even though cart shows $1500+. Any solutions?

    • what browser? Use IE and try again

  • Great deal, I'd love to get one of these. But after searching for Lenovo reviews, I'm not willing to risk it

  • do they provide tax invoice to claim TRS?

  • This comes down to about $1k after cash rewards and Amex cash back. Would this setup enable 4k editing?

  • Missed out on the amex addition to card, else would have bought this laptop by now.
Any chance of getting the Amex offer now? Perhaps anyone not using it (but that could be awkward).

    • I won’t be using mine

      • How could this work though?
