What is so good?
@SamR: TV in this deal looks like a UJ65xx series, which is not affected by the RGBW LCD which your article is referring to …
Affected TV's models in UJxxxx series are
UJ7700 Series: 49UJ7700, 55UJ7700, 60UJ7700, 65UJ7700
UJ6600 Series: 70UJ6600, 75UJ6600
UJ6300 Series: 43UJ6300, 49UJ6300, 55UJ6300, 60UJ6300, 65UJ6300
At the end it says:
While some of this is visible in real world images, many of the limitations are noticeable primarily in test patterns, which most consumers will never see.

Since most consumers will never be involved in an accident involving deployment of airbags, …
I think it is an affected TV as it is an lower end model. LG do not tell you if it has a RGBW screen, they DO tell you if it has an IPS screen.
As for the RGBW issue, you are right most people would not notice IF they use the TV as a TV. Watching Netflix etc.
BUT if you want to use it with a HTPC, then it is a major issue, especially if you want to run it in 4K.
@SamR: Even Samsung bought these panels from LG according to those articles. But as u said, nor LG nor Samsung will tell if they used RGBW. And in case of any issues, I will get in touch with the local LG service centre here in Melbourne. Why to send back to QLD ? Isn't it like buying a car, buy from any dealer, get it serviced/repaired/fixed from any authorised dealer/service centre ?
Since most consumers will never be involved in an accident involving deployment of airbags, …
Love your comparison. It's not even Apples to Oranges. Its Apple to an Orange Tree. Seeing a random line on your TV to getting involved in a car accident. Wow …
It's the entry level 4K TV but for this price I'd say go for it
Its entry level but super cheap for a 2017 model. Jump on this deal guys
If you have a JB close ask em to come a bit closer they may match, also if you did need to return for a fault the postage will eat your saving.
Ah bugger, I bought from JB on Friday for a hundred bucks more. But yes I'll console myself with knowing I can return easier to a local store than to QLD if anything goes wrong :(

Videopro wont help you after 14 days after delivery anyway. Its up to the manufacturer to sort out the warranty apparently. So surely it doesn't matter if getting it from JB or somewhere online does it ?
Incorrect.

I'd definitely buy from JB HiFi if at all possible. Gives you more 'shopfronts' to return it to, and also makes them responsible for shipping charges on big/bulky items like TV's.
Fairy muff. Im going to tuck in to JB HiFi tonight and see if i can crunch a little more. If not ill toss a coin on whether it's worth spending the other 100 bucks….
If they can't reduce price convince em to throw in a free HDMI cable lol.
Yep, or free delivery.
And don't be afraid to walk out and try a different salesperson. It took me 3 goes to get the best deal on a TV at JB's… just all depends on which one of them desperately needs a sale ;).
@UFO:
I went and did my best. Got them to price match it from yesterday's Ebay sale and then give me 40 bucks extra off because i picked it up myself. WINNING. Got the tv for $1,160 !! Very Happy !
All you need to do in case of a problem is send the TV to your nearest LG service centre.

Considering between this or Sony not sure if I should go for Sony or this? 🤔
It's a bargain. I bought this excellent tv from binglee 2days ago.
