Sorry my bad, it was $320, not $420.
$320 is quite cheap for a high end motherboard, while no X299 motherboards exist at that price, cheapest I can find is around $450. The successor to the 6850k, the 7800x is slightly faster but doesn't OC as well and is more expensive (compared to the Amazon deal)
2011 is on the way out, but 2066 definitely isn't taking over. It's a trash platform with trash products at luxury prices.
Go AMD, or wait another year or so for Intel to pull itself together.

Is this like a well known thing or something you noticed? Just seems curious that Ryzen wouldn't wallop this but I have no idea beyond what I read.
Most Adobe applications aren't well threaded. With obvious exceptions for the video editing suites, but even they have certain cases where, say a 7700K, is faster than a Ryzen 1800X.
