This price is better then buying one direct from DJI.com for $499USD!

How I see it, you 1. buy it from dji.com (AU) and pay a butt load more because of Australian tax… or 2. you can try buy one from dji.com (HK/China/US) and have it shipped to a relative and then have them bring it back to Australia for you, with warranty locked to the country of origin.

Or 3. buy from Banggood.com and let them sort out the warranty with DJI if you are having issues (claim paypal return postage costs to send it back to banggood in event of warranty claim)

  • Is this shop trustable, never bought things from there brfore? Any good deal for mavic…

    • +5

Personally I buy way too many things from banggood

have things ever been listed as instock but actually back ordered and banggood make you wait? yep has happened before, but was I given the option to refund or wait, of course…

Has banggood ever run away with my money? Never (plus you pay through paypal)

Is banggood easy to deal with for warranty? Depends on who you get and how persistent / insistent you are on the emails they like to ask for video evidence of the faulty product.

Have I ever had things go missing in the mail and how have banggood handled it? I the delivery time frame is expired, they will offer resend or refund.

      • Thanks for information

    • +2

I've bought more than a few things from Banggood.

      • Had a couple of items that weren't really in stock and got refund right away
      • Had an item with serious problems, had to send a couple of emails + pictures but got refund
      • Had some items that never arrived, after 50 or so days they just resent them
      • But 95% of the time it's all fine (with the right expectations).

I'd say they are reputable, but I'd make sure to get decent postage/insurance/tracking for any expensive item.

      • I see, thanks

    • +2

Yea get a good banging either way, so it's a good bang for your buck.

  • I've just sent a message to BasicValue who have a decent rep of selling drones here on OzBargain & Whirlpool if they can add the mavic & spark to the toys & hobbies category.. They seem to have listed the P4P so maybe they will do the same.

Then we can use cozzie for 10%

    • Can you post it as a deal if they end up doing so.

      • yeah, they just replied so looks like they are adding them in :)

        • If you dont mind, can you link it. I went on there ebay store, appied cozzie, and it didnt work :S

        • @geeluv: they said they have to wait for the spark because there are some offers.. will check back later

        • What about putting it in one of the tech categories for 20% or is that pushing the friendship? :)

        • @Boulders: pretty sure the ebay 20% codes are selected stores only

        • @impoze:

          Yeah. My bad.

        • @geeluv i've posted the deal now - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/320613

        • @impoze: Thank you kind sir

  • Is this the lowest this has been? If I have a Mavic already it's this worth getting?

    • Stick to the Mavic Pro

      • Cheers. I just thought it might be fun with portability, but I guess the Mavic is pretty small as it is.

        • +1

The mavic is smaller folded and the carry bags for both are the same size. The spark only having 2 axis gimbal really kills it for me. Also no 4k but that's not so bad

    • +1

The Mavic's kinda like the Learjet, just smooth and fast, long lasting. The spark is a bit like a Cessna… a basic bitch.

      • +1

If we're going to bring Learjet stats into this, the Phantom 4 really is the creme of the crop :P

        • phantoms more like a CRJ or similar

I picked up the Fly More Combo from JB today for $980. Worth the extra for the Aussie warranty

    • how did you get that price?

      • I walked it and asked them to match that price. They contemplated it for a bit and came back to say yes.

        • What/which price?

    • +1

Is the remote and accessories even worth it?

      • I got mine for 1065 and the remote, battery and charger definitely worth the extra. The charger is a lot quicker and charges 3 batteries at the same time

        • +1

you can also get 5% JB gift cards or 7% via forum or using e-gift card at woolies

        • Does the remote offer anything more than using your mobile phone though? The charger would be good though.

        • +1

          @YellowKnight:
Increased distance, more reliable, better feel for controls, being able to see the screen in full when navigating rather than two thumbs.the controller is definitely worth it on its own

      • I think so. An extra battery is desirbale given limited flight time and the controller significantly improves the range.

    • How did you get that price?

    • How did you get it to $980? Staff?

      • Just asked them to match that price.

        • What site did you reference?

        • same here, i dont know which site/company to reference. below $1000 prices are usually grey-products (which they don't honour)

        • +1

@bluff: I got the flying combo on sunday, I just asked the best price the JBHIFI sales can do (without the price match), he said $999. The basic version doesn't have the remote, which has the 100m flying range limit.

        • Cool! will try that at our local JB. I hope they give-in

        • +1

@bluff: I didn't. I asked for best price and it was $1050. I said I can get it for $980 from another aussie retailer delivered, can they match. Make your price reasonable but a bargain and most will agree. If they asked where the match was I would have quoted macgregors or similar that have offered some deals to others.

        • @roller: I wish i had your negotiation skills. Just went to my local JB and the best he could do was 1150. lol

  • Damnnnnnn

  • $600 for 15-minute flying on one single battery. It's a bargain!!!!?

Without extra 3-5 batteries and the remote controller for significant fly range improve, the Spark will always be a spark.

    • +1

If you know what you're doing, 15 minutes is a long while.

  • The prices are just getting better and better! I'll wait until the combo pack get down to this price… LOL

    • +1

Then let's just wait until this gets to $300.

  • Was trying to workout which was the better deal
    $593 drone
    $160-$190 for controller
    $65 battery
$61 battery charger (after market) or $91 original
    $879 in total

JB hi-fi fly more 1065 and if claiming GST, $968. some have got flymore under 1k

I guess its not too bad and really good if you will fly without the controller, but I can tell you after tonight, I'll def be flying with the controller. My DJI app crashed on me and I was glad I had a controller to press return to home! The batteries go pretty quick too and you need 2 min and I'm getting 3-4. The batter charger is also a quick charge and definitely good if you have >2 batts.

  • Anyone with the Mavic or Spark investigated insurance options? Or are these things so easy to fly it's hard to crash?

      • I have Refresh on my P4P. Just remember you have to send the damaged drone back to get a replacement. If you crash over water and lose it, no deal.

        • unless the cached video and the log shows it's a dji issue. has happened to a few sparks supposedly and they replaced it but more so under warranty rather than refresh.

        • @j450n74y:

on a warranty claim yes, if you are at fault, care refresh kicks in and you're liable for the deductible. You guys do know the difference between warranty and insurance right? :D

The great unknown seems to be, if you buy a grey import, purchase care-refresh in your country of origin, 3 months later the camera turns purple, you contact DJI with your care-refresh citing a problem, you send it off under care-refresh so DJI have your device. Then DJI deem the issue a warranty item instead of insurance and process as warranty, how is it handled? Are you liable for shipping from their facility in Australia to China or is the item sent back to you as is, and you have to lodge it to a foreign country? Or do DJI just say (profanity) it and repair your device anyway?

You could always let it develop an issue, then smack it into a wall to cover it up and pay the deductible, but that would be frowned upon I gather. You get 2 deductibles per policy.

      • if you buy DJI care on a grey import you still have to pay shipping back to the original country i.e. China

    • easy to fly, Super-easy to crash.

  • +1

Heads up, I find on BangGood, its better to pay USD if you have a no international fee credit card. CC rates tend to be much better than BGs internal rates.

This deal is $458.15USD which is about $575.99AUD using Google.

    • Just release it back to the wild

  • Out of curiosity, does the Spark share many components or aftermarket accessories with the Mavic Pro? As in can an existing Mavic controller be used with the Spark, batteries etc. All in an effort to reduce the base cost of ownership.

    • Just the exhorbant price tag as with all dji products

  • Just curious, has anyone already received their Mavic Pro from that unbeatable deal few weeks ago?

    • same here, i want to ask this question, it was less than 1k i believe in that time…

  • +1

Hey OP, you can get this now for $454USD or ~$572 AU with no conversion cost card using "8490A5". Your coupon only puts it down to about $550USD now.
