How does this compare to Sonos play 1? Specially sound quality.

  Different use cases I'd suggest. I suspect the Sonos may sound better, but it needs to be plugged into power. The Bose has a battery and is (roughly) a quarter the size and a third the weight of the Sonos - so is designed for portability.
