Thinking of doing a book keeping course, any recommendations where to study it other then tafe? (as tafe costs an arm and a leg)
I know there is Udemy courses, but are they really credible?

Are you looking to become a bookkeeper or do you just want to manage your home business books better?
If you are looking at using your new found skills to search for employment then a TAFE course is your number one choice. They are not necessarily more expensive than those offered by a private RTO but I would think their status is more marketable.
If you are unemployed, you may be able to have at least part of your course funded by a return to work organisation.
If you are going to get a certificate and apply for a job, then spell it as one word in your application: bookkeeping.
Bookmaking course might be more interesting.
Perhaps think about doing a course in an Bookkeeping programme eg. Xero, MYOB etc.
Is it for yourself or to obtain work?
Thanks for everyones replies, It's for me however I would consider seeking employment in the field if I found it enjoyable :)
In that case, see if you can find a free or cheap Udemy course.
If you do decide you like it, that should help if you do choose to do an accredited course later on, as you would already have the basics.
1) TAFEs would probably get you the most ready for it.
2) Private RTOs may be cheaper, but are generally more focused on income than education, but you will get a quail out of it.
3) Udemy may teach you somethings, but it won't get you a qual. This may limit you.
Depends really on what you want to do, but I'd either go TAFE or a reputable RTO.
