I've never had a problem with Garmin products. It was a choice between this and the Tom Tom Rider 400 and this received better reviews.
Love garmin previously in the car, but currently I just use Google Maps via bluetooth for audio turn-by-turn without the screen for navigation - anyone transitioned from mobile/google maps to a dedicated GPS on a bike and found it valuable/not much different? Genuinely interested.
Thought this was for a bicycle, it's actually for a motorcycle
Own a Garmin Zumo 660 (bought in 2010), love that unit.
Good find at that price OP. Love our Garmin products, we moved over from using TomTom for about ten years or so just this year, and it is the best move we ever made. Great for map updates and usability compared to TomTom at least. So I would say that Garmins maps are better, clearer to read even if you turn down the sound direction.
Can imagine using a GPS on a motorbike would be pretty dangerous. Think you'd be a lot safer listening to turn by turn through a single earphone
It connects to a bluetooth headset for turn-by-turn navigation and playing music.

I searched Garmin edge 1000 through the eBay click and collect promotion but it wouldn't accept the discount code when the item was I my basket?
Garmin's maps are messed up. the give the wrong directions and many times they tell me to go right/left where there is a sign no right/left.
