    • whats cheeky about it?

      • -2

I thought it is a link that bring me to their special promotion page, but it is actually a referral link

        • oh i see, does that mean OP gets some benefit too?

        • not a referral link - was handed a flyer with that on it this morning

          @Simple Sydney:

Interesting, because it is appending after you click that lunch19 invite=2pIqar8WBpJxqxjB

        • I get no benefit - i guess it is an easy to type link rather than the long code

        • @fomal: Apparently you can only sign up to meal pal if they invite you. When you go mealpal website it will say something like "no account? request an invite"

probably why it has invite code for internal purpose.

If it's a referal, did you report it?

  • wish this one in melbourne

  • $19 for 5 meals works out to $3.80 per meal.

normal price is $95.88 for 12 meals which works out to $7.99 per meal

    • You get $50 coles gift card with referral link though at the moment.

  • for how many days?

  • +1

Its definitely not a referral link. It is the same link they were handing out to hundreds of people this morning at the train station

    • Its definitely not a referral link.

Who cares if it was anyway, if someone takes the time to post a deal who cares if they get something out of it. Too many people want to complain about everything.

automatic renewal / recurring billing & 7 days notice to cancel membership…. anyone can confirm if this is true?

    http://observer.com/2016/09/mealpal-not-my-friend/

looks like mealpal will charge more than $19 before we could cancel the membership…?

    • It is automatic renewal, but you can keep the account on hold up to 3 months and It won't charge until the hold date. On hold meaning you don't want to start new cycle until the hold date. And you can keep changing the date. However, I'm not sure about the 7 days notice for cancellation. It says cancel anytime in the FAQs. You can cancel straight away after you sign up.

      • yeah but why would you want to cancel? I'm in my second month now - getting lunch in Sydney CBD for $8 each time is good value to me. And I don't have to queue up! I'm actually going to change to the 20 meal plan cos then its $7.50 per meal - Im using it every day anyway haha.
My recommendations are Chur Burger, Sake Junior, Charlie and Co., Taste Baguette and Best Thai Curry I ever had at Sweeny's hotel! A couple of suss places in Hunter Connection - but you always know what you're gonna get if you go there I guess!

  • only in CBD area ? what about North Sydney ?

I have Mealpal and think it is a brilliant way to keep lunch at <$10 a day, referred two mates, so expecting $100 in cards, I love food and it is one area I'm happy to fork out a little bit of hard earned mullah. Very good options as well, I don't recommend taking the 20 meal per month option as it pretty much forces you to use it everyday, prefer the flexibility of the 12 option.

    • How are the portion sizes?

      • +2

8/10 places have been good, a couple (Poku) seem to cut down, but Mealpal has a very good function, allows you to rate the portion after every meal, so gives them feedback and flows through to end user.

        • cheers might give it a go

      • +2

Each meal has their own size, you just gotta choose what you preferred. I had Belle's Chicken in Barangaroo and the meal contains 4 chicken wings and chips which normally cost $17.

        • Yikes. I know Belle's Hot Chicken is retardedly expensive but 4 chicken wings and some chips for $8 seems poor value to me (and not very filling)

        • @ippy: That's what I thought when I first ordered, but when I went to pick it up, they are no KFC chicken wings. These are full size chicken wings, you need to see it for yourself as it is hard to describe it here. You can just go there and have a look at those peoples order to justify whether it's filing or not.

        • @akte: yeah - i got the chicken tender and bay fries which normally they sell for $19 - the box it came in was the size of my forearm - sooooooo good :)

        • @akte: ohhhhh right with the drumstick. Yeah I was indeed picturing something like wicked wings in my head. Cool, cheers mate

        • @Simple Sydney: LOL, I tried all 3: drumsticks, chicken wings and tenders! They are all good! The chips are good too! Last time I was full just eating the chips and 2 wings!

        • @ippy: Yeah, KFC wicked wings or the original wings are seriously too small… I need about 20 of that to fill me up.

  • looks like they've just launched a bunch of restaurants in Surry Hills - incl Haven, Boyz Eatery, Great Aunty Three, Rush, Chur Burger etc
