This is true, but on the flip side McGregor has age on his side. Mayweather himself said that he's not even the same boxer he was 5 years ago.
Although McGregor is a not a pro boxer, this could also be key factor in a win. It's that unorthodox style that can be the edge in the ring. Fighters study each other and analyse their styles and tells, someone like McGregor who hasn't boxed professionally might be that fast ball from left field.
While I would agree that mayweather is the favourite, it's not so cut and dry as others make it to be.
its a novelty match to make a bunch of money
not sure what to make out of it. Mayweather is pretty old. I am inclined towards Mayweather because he has been boxing since very young.
Think about it, a person who is not a boxer, who has never boxed professionally in his life, taking on the best defensive boxer in history with a 49-0 record.
As said above, it's a novelty entertainment match.
Would we expect Lionel Messi to beat LeBron James in a basketball one on one?
a person who is not a boxer
Um … what?
Mayweather will win by running around. But I'm still rooting for McGregor just to beat up his face
McWeather
bikies
Grow up.
Looks like he's 20 but acts like he's 10.

what do the OzBargain folks think ?.
Didn't think news spread that far … shouldn't you be more interested in your cousin?
Over the hill boxer vs non-boxer in boxing match at $100 or whatever it is is no bargain.
McGregor only in it for the money, only way he can win is some miraculous knockout punch, which will be unlikely.
Floyd should outclass him but hoping for McGregor to get under his skin and make him reckless and being able to put him out
It's all a show, all the fighting and lead up? It's all entertainment.
mayweather to win boxing match and best dancer in the ring award.
One of the greatest boxers of the modern age at 49-0 vs a mma fighter who is 19-3 and one of his poorest showing in the ufc was against a boxer in diaz
Now floyd may be past his prime and may also be caught with a lucky shot but - mayweather has a well over 95% chance of winning
Put $10000 on Mayweather winning by points, it's free money. Thank me later.
Mayweather should lose then the inevitable rematch would net him and McGregor even more.
Macgregor wins in a real fight.
Mayweather wins in the boxing ring.I assume the fight would be similar to the Pacman fight, but even less entertaining:

Most likely will be like that.
Mayweather fights with "strategy", which is to run around like he did in the Pacman fight. His fights aren't entertaining to watch, mostly by decision these days. I guess its because he has a lot more to lose than McGregor.
McGregor's got nothing to lose - its not even his type of sport, he's in a win-win situation.
- Lose the fight - big paycheck, little/no damage to career since he's an MMA fighter. Moves on.
- Wins the fight - bragging rights forever and bigger paycheck.Yeah, Floyd had so much more to lose. He must really love money/have lots of self belief to risk it all.
UFC is a sport, not fighting
UFC is actually the competition, mixed martial arts is the sport.
McGregor by KO/TKO.
Come back and see if I was correct on fight day.
Which round? Left/right hook/jab/uppercut?
I just think he gets the job done. My only concern is the thick gloves that Mayweather is insisting on them both using in the contract. He gets to choose everything from where the fight is, the gloves, watching and inspecting the hand wrapping process, who the judges are etc etc… Mayweather trusts few people.
I loathe both of them. However I dislike Mayweather more.
I will have money of Conor to win.
Mayweather will win.
Hmm where can I watch this fight?
lefty vs righty
ufc vs boxing
29 vs 41 (…retired)
white vs black
8 ounces vs 10 ounces (not going to make a difference as Floyd has train in 8)
170 pounds vs 140 pounds
king of MMA vs ….retired undisputed light boxer world championI know its a bit cuckoo for a UFC fighter to follow boxing rules. Its like asking the UFC fighter to tie his leg for handicap.
Mayweather is fighting for $350 million, and a majority of people will bet on him and if he loses it will be too obvious where the money is going to as nobody will predict it…. 10 to 1.
Realistically Floyd should win based on his skills and knowledge but because of the money involve (maybe billions) in this and it will not affect his 49 wins, I think I will bet on Mcgregor as I believe this fight is going to be rigged due to the amount of money involved.Lets hope Mcgregor doesn't go kung fu fighting with his legs.
I agree, I think that Mayweather should take the chocolates if he can avoid the left hand of Connor. It's gonna be interesting either way, that's for sure.
Mayweather Vs McGregor: What time does the fight start in Australia?

Now….to look for a place to watch.
To the people who are going to watch the fights at specific pubs in sydney or around Australia….
Do be careful what you say or shout, as Irish backpackers and fans could be around so if they are drunk or like any hardcore football hooligans you are asking for a fight.
I wish Connor Mcgregor all the best and I will bet on him to win with a unpredictable stunt as he is a fighter…..not a boxer.
Mcgregor shouts:~~`Take that (jumping punch)….n#@#$!
Mayweather: What the hell???!! never seen that move b4…. brain freezes with jaw dropped.
K.O!
May the fight be nice one and not a short one @_@
anyone gonna link free streams here?
you will find what your looking for on redit
yeah normally i go there, but i always see a lot of bullshit links too. we'll see. if i find something i will share with my fellow barginers
Bruce Lee's advice to McConnor from the heavens!:
“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”I put $100 on Mayweather by points, because:
IMO
With age he doesnt have the punching power he once had. well he never really was a big puncher anyway
I reckon his reflex wouldve dropped but his experience should let him read Connor's movement and avoid being punched
I just worry that he KOs Connor by picking apart his defensive holes and his attack as this is what he's good at.
Either that or this is a fixed match and he goes down but he got wayyy too much money to take a dive and tarnish his record.
Hopefully he won't mess Connor's face too much too early and get a stoppage.
if McGregor wins, his next project will be taking on Rafael Nadal
Two men getting punched around the ring should be banned.
Boxing posts on OZB should be banned.if i got 75 mil u can punch me for 12 rounds too.
around the ring ?
you'd be cheaper than that surely.Lol
Today's the day
Floyd still got it.
Mayweather by however he wants. (Even though he hasn't knocked anyone out in years)
Nate Diaz out-boxed McGregor, and would have knocked him out, before McGregor went for a takedown and got choked out.
He's now fighting, arguably, the greatest boxer of our generation, with some of the fastest hands we've seen.
Canelo Alvarez (top 5 pound for pound boxer in the world) couldn't land much on Mayweather, so I don't see how Conor (with zero professional bouts) can land.
