I received this offer via email, seems to work on both Black and Silver models.

I have ordered from TomTop quite some time ago and they seemed fine, can't comment on them currently though.

Thanks to doweyy's post (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/317731)

Mod 25/7: The powerbank no longer ships to Australia and existing purchases don't appear to have been shipped. Please contact the retailer to discuss your options, if your item hasn't shipped.

Would this be considered a more preferable option at $24.69? - Ozzie seller with local stock and 100% feedback. Easier with PayPal claims too if needed.
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-MI-10000mAh-Power-Bank-2-E…

I ordered one from an overseas seller - its been over 6 weeks and no sign of delivery yet (or tracking).

      • Ozzie seller with local stock and 100% feedback

He only has 2139 feedback, so he's still a relatively new seller and might not stick around.

It's not a bad price if you need it now and don't want to wait 6 weeks. Whether that's worth it varies from person to person. If you have an ebay code, maybe get it from the oz seller.

        • +3

2139 feedback with a 100% rating not good enough? He seems to be in business from 2 May 2010 so 7 years experience and probably has multiple eBay Ids. Though I just noticed that his location (perhaps of registration) shows Hong Kong. The item is being sent by registered post and estimated delivery is 7 days max.

Unfortunately I have ordered from overseas seller already so will just have to wait for it otherwise would have ordered through this local seller. I always feel more comfortable ordering on eBay.

        • @T D: It's ok. But the china sellers have in the tens to hundreds of thousands. It might be 99.7% or so, but you know with an account that invested, they aren't going to close the account and start a new one that no one will trust due to lack of feedback. Older accounts are safer than newer accounts because they will take feedback more seriously. If a new account gets NFBs, they can just close it and make a new one. Older ones that's harder to give up.

I don't think you have anything to worry about buying from this guy. My reply is based on your comment of "100% feedback". You can't just look at the percentage. The number matters also.

If someone has 100 score with 100% feedback, would you trust that more than a seller with 500,000 but 99.6% feedback? That means the second seller has 2000 negative feedbacks compared to 0 of the first seller, but has been around a lot longer and does more sales. Which would you rather buy from though?

        • Sometimes I prefer Amazon US over local ebay dealer.

  • +6

Buy using this deal and save extra $4. also if you sign up using refreral, It would be like getting it delivered for free

    • +1

What's the minimum before you can withdraw your cash from TopCashBack?

      • No minimum based on reading their terms and conditions the past 10 mins to find out.

    • Could you post some steps to do this?

    • +1

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the referral appears to only earn money for the referrer, not the referee.

      • You are correct. My mistake

  • -1

    Just use Cashrewards.

    • +2

      Cashrewards = ~$0.80. TopCashBack = ~$4

Still here waiting for Shopping Square Order (almost 8 weeks now). Any comments on delivery times or refund/fail to deliver policy from TomTop?

    • +3

Yup I'm in the same boat.
Hoping for a refund with in the next 2 days, then I'll buy this though the sale is most likely to have ended by then or Ozbargained.

      • +1

I'm also in the process of getting a refund. They want me to sign the agreement, but I'm waiting for a response to see if they are paying shipping expenses.

        • +5

IMO do not sign that agreement.
I believe that when you make a purchase they keep your money for a few/several weeks, then they buy the product from there supplier and post it to you. If you sight the agreement in 2/4 weeks it will arrive and you will have to buy it or pay expensive postage to China.

I believe they deliberately withhold the product to benefit from placing the money in a savings account, gather the interest then they buy the product from there supplier and send it to you.

This is just screwing us around so they can gather interest from a savings account.

Of course this is just a theory that I have, the only way I can think that delivery would take so long.

        • +3

@Wystri Warrick: the interest you get in savings is a joke. However it could be that they don't have the money to buy the products. First they sell it and then once they get the money they order it and unless they get enough orders to cover the cost and make profit they won't order.

        • +2

          @VAA: ah yes yeah true.
I was looking at it if they sold 100k of products a year x by average price of $10 = 1m divide by 12 months = $83,333 divide by 100 = 833 + 0.125 interest per month (total of 1.5%pa) would be a profit of $104.17 in interest per month.

        • +1

Shit. I signed it. Have now withdrawn it. Definitely not paying to ship it back if it does turn up after 6 months.

Will just a charge back on the card instead.

        • @Wystri Warrick: exactly. It is peanuts when you compare it against 1 million. So the second is more realistic .- gather the money required from customers and then buy

    • I had to go to a PayPal dispute when tomtop sent me a faulty item. Their initial suggestion was that I should take the item to a 'local shop' to see if they could repair it. I doubt I would use them again.

    • +2

Me too, just waiting for the funds to come through. Whatever you do don't close the papal dispute till you have the money refunded.

Had to sign a waiver to say 'if' the courier finds the item I will send it back to them.

    • I got mine from SS after about 6 weeks. It will eventually come.

    • +1

I ordered one on the 22nd May from the previous deal from Shopping square. It arrived a couple of weeks ago, early July? So it did take a while, I kind of forgot about I had ordered it by then. Device works well, the authentication sticker was verified on the Xiao Mi site too.

    • I raised a paypal case against them 1.5 weeks ago… still under review!

    • Same here. I emailed them two days ago and now getting a credit or replacement sent out. They require a declaration form to be dated and signed and returned to them via email or fax, also send product back if it still get's posted from the original order. At the cost of freight back to China, would end up too expensive, so think before you act.

    • I'm in the exact same position! I sent them an email last week and they said to wait one more week and if it hadn't arrived yet, to send them another email.

  • Should i get a 10,000mAh or a 20,000mAh battery pack for powering my dash cam while the ignition is off (parking mode)?

    • I was also interested in using a power bank for my dash cam. The only problem I see is that the power bank has to be charged at home as it discharges faster then it takes to charge in the car.

      • +1

i dont see that as a huge problem to be honest. but you can always use a dash cam hard wire kit to charge your battery pack, then use the output from the battery pack to power the dash cam in parking mode. easy

        • No it's not as simple as you think it is

          • How do you know these don't auto cut power when the dash cam finishes charging
          • Do these have pass through functions from power fed by the hard wire kit?

You are asking for UPS like functions, when these aren't UPS boxes. I think some research is to be done.

  • +2

I purchased one of these a few months ago for $21ish delivered, not bad, slim enough to fit in my Jeans/pants pocket with my phone, and can fast charge my Samsung S7 edge.

Seems like a good price, will buy a spare using this deal.

  • Thanks OP. Just Got one.

  • +1

If you want more than one.. order separatly
Because the coupon is only valid for $8 off 1 item but won't stop you placing multiple orders getting full discount

  • +1

After applying code days 13.99 and selecting PayPal which shows I'm paying 13.99usd I'm returned to confirm order and it says $19 usd. What will i be charged?

    • Curious also.. This just happened

    • +1

I just went through, past the last screen where it says 19.99 and was charged the $13.99 discounted price

    • Happened too did not place order.. go back to redo and select checkout button on right and than select paypal in that order not checkout with paypal button on the left

    • When i went back to my order in tomtop it shows up as 13.99 but because I was afraid to pay…i did it the other way, i have to orders now one of which is pending payment. I have emailed to cancel

    • Same issue here but I paid and was only charged the $13.99usd.

  • +1

Just wondering, is there any local deal tor this powerbank? I'm moving overseas next week and I kinda need it asap.

  • how long is delivery on this one? still waiting for my delivery from the shopping square special

  • Thank OP. Got two

  • Does Xiaomi have a USBC battery product?

    • +2

Yes, the Power Bank 2 Pro 10,000 mah.

  • Received mine last night. It cost $30 but instead of waiting 8 weeks I waited 6 days.

    • From this seller?

      • +2

        http://www.mushtato.com.au/genuine-xiaomi-10000mah-power-ban…
$31.90 and it's an Australian seller that is well respected on OZB.

Buy 2 or more and get it for $26.95

      • +2

Got it from shopping express ebay for $29. Make sure to pick the one that says aus stock

        • Thanks. I filed a PayPal dispute for the Shopping square deal (been over 8wks). Might jump on the reliable option

  • Was just thinking I should look for a battery pack to see if it will run the chromecast audio and this deal was on the main page so guess that was it's a sign. Bought!

  • -2

These are pretty useless never end up using them anyway

    • Why do you buy them then?

    • +3

Hmmm I was thinking the exact opposite, I put mine in the "lifesaving" category. I have a don't leave home without one type relationship with mine.

      • I'm not sure if that's a healthy relationship tbh.

  • Cheap price.
It would be nice if it came with 2 USB ports so you can connect 2 devices to it conveniently. My ancient (2x 18650-cell) power bank does. So in this area, this is a downgrade. I wonder what cells Xiaomi uses in this model.

  • What silicon covers does Ozbargain recommend so it doesn't scratch the mobile if placed in the same pocket?

    • +1

I bought this silicon case with 15% off coupon code CELLACC2 from BangGood and 7% cashback from CashRewards. It says 2nd generation which I hope is for Xiaomi Power Bank 2. It looks like it does.

Tomtop is a registered fraudulent site in the Australian online shopping domain.

All positive feedback is carried out via Tomtop incentives to people whom have not purchased from the site. The Australian consumer watchdog, or ACCC is almost at the completion of their investigation.

Following the report the Australian governments cyber criminal bureau will action warnings nationally for any engagement with this site.

After the financial loss I incurred after purchase of a product that was never shipped I took it upon myself to offer my legal aid and collate a group of dissatisfied customers to provide evidence to the ACCC.

I hope we continue to discourage more than the 3,800 already prospective shoppers from Tomtop in hope of awareness of their unlawful business dealings.

There will be a response to this message from Tomtop in wanting to be seen in providing compensation, however this is corrupt much like all the positive feed back which has been traced to Tomtops subsidiary IP address (very poor cover up) .

This message wil be circulated amongst all online shopping review platforms in order to protect consumers.

Just wondering why my order status is "Oh Hold"?

    • Same, I initially thought it was because the order was placed on the weekend and they would process it on Monday but my order status still reads as "On Hold" at this point.

  • Order set to processing at the moment

    • yes mine too, but then when i checked it again a couple of hours later, it is back to "On Hold"

      • Huh, so it is. Guess we will see it arrive in a few months. Just need it before I go to the US in October

  • After ordering a range of different items from tomtop and waiting over a month to get the item, I've stopped buying from them.

  • Has anyone got their item shipped? Mine is still on hold

    • +1

mine is still on hold for 2 weeks now

    • +1

I paid with PayPal. Dispatched the next day, according to their website.

      • I paid with PayPal too.

        • +1

Hmm, maybe send them a message.

        • +1

@cheepwun: I will do that. Thank you!

    • +1

That sucks, mine was shipped on the 15th.

Just to add, I did a live chat with them a few days after posting this and they seemed to indicate they had oversold. Might be what happened..

    • So I received a refund today. None communication from them at all. After a couple of emails I sent to them, they didn't reply even once. At least I got a refund

  • +4

I just got this email from them, probably not Customs at all, my guess would be oversold and overpromised

    "Dear customer,
I am sorry that the custom in you country do not allow pure battery to go through after we have tried. So we have to refund you about your order.
I am sorry again. And the refund would be arrived in 1 to 3 days.
Thanks for support. Have a nice day"

    • +1

Guess I might receive an email soon then.

      • I got mine just then.

    • Yep mine too :(

    • same got that email too

  • +1

Oh no…. I received the same email saying there was an issue with customs blocking the shipment but suspect that they oversold. Both my Xiaomi 20k and 10k powerbanks (bought 9/07/17) from Banggood have been shipped with no problems. The 20k powerbank arrived on 25th July.

  • I had an e-mail from them 8 days ago saying it shipped out, with a tracking ID. Yet, the tracking site has no record of it… Trying to get in touch with them now.

    • So they have responded by saying that my item was shipped without a tracking number (even though one was clearly supplied in the e-mail) and that if I don't receive it by a specified date, that I should check with Auspost by providing the tracking number…

There is clearly something not good here.

This is the last time I ever deal with them.

      • Same here - invalid tracking number. And still no delivery. Time to lodge a Paypal claim

      • I have the same issue with my tracking number and nothing has arrived.
What ended up happening for you - did it turn up? Refund?

        • It never turned up. I put through a Paypal dispute and they refunded me within 24 hours. Along with some excuse about how customs had sent the package back to them.

  • I have a horrible feeling things are going to go wrong for tomtop…… or more correctly for ozbargainers…. There have been quite a few deals recently.
    I wouldn't buy from them again….

  • got the same email about shipping a battery to your country. just got my paypal credit

  • I have received a full refund from Tomtop without leaving a note or sending an email.

  • Received mine today, all seems fine.
