Logitech UE Roll 2 $63.97 C&C @ Myer eBay

180
CMYER

Nice little deal for an easy listening Bluetooth speaker with decent range and is waterproof.
I have this hanging on a tree when doing my gardening, if my old aged forgetfulness means I'd left it on a tree and the rain comes, no problem!

Key features from the eBay Myer site;

• You can drop it in the pool. Or, you can bungee it to the front of your kayak as you go over a waterfall. The ROLL 2 is completely waterproof (IPX7 rated at 1m for 30min).
• Up to 9hrs battery life. Actual battery life will vary with use, settings and environmental conditions.
• Whether you're biking, running trails, or making drink runs, you don't want to carry a heavy speaker. That's why UE ROLL 2 weighs just over half a pound (330g). So light, you'll forget you're even carrying it.
• Wireless stereo pairing via the UE ROLL 2 app (Availiable in the Google and App Store)

  • Got one, thanks!

  • You can drop it in the pool but it won't float on it's own. Otherwise great little speaker.

  • looking for something for bathroom, anyone with one think it's suitable or overkill?

    • With the need of a hot steamy shower or bath in Melbourne, I would say very suitable. Can even take it hiking or camping etc without worries of rain damage.

    • I use one in the bathroom, not exposed to hot water on it but exposed to steam, moisture, etc, still works since I got it a few months back.

The only downside to this is you need an app constantly installed on your phone to use it.

      • So it isn't just a standard Bluetooth connection? That's a bit crap…

        • It is a standard Bluetooth connection but for some reason, it forces you to download the app. You don't need to open the app to use it, just needs to be installed on your phone, a little silly to be honest.

  • Sound quality sucks.

I'm a big Logitech fan, I have a UE Boom 2 that I really rate. This one I returned, tinny n nasty.

Talking yes, music no (in my opinion).

    • I used to own a boom 2 (until I lost it at the beach :( ), compared to my mate's Roll 2 the boom definitely has bigger sound. Side by side you could call the roll 'tinnier' but I think by itself it has pretty decent sound quality for a speaker that is a bit more rugged/portable and significantly cheaper than the boom 2.

I'm just trying to convince myself I made the right decision by buying one just then :)
