  • How much solar energy does it need to operate? My desk is about 10m away from the balcony/window. As I need to take it to the balcony under the sunlight every morning to charge it? ;)

    • from my experience with solar lights, it would definitely take more than a few days worth of strong sunlight to charge a 2000mah battery to a significant level.

1 AA battery puts it in the same range as those $2 solar garden lights from Bunnings. They don't put out a lot of light, so I wouldn't expect too much from the Ikea one either. Although I haven't seen them, let alone used them, so I may be wrong.

  • Helping you save energy and reduce your environmental impact…

I think you mean increase your environmental impact and save no cents per year when you account for the running costs of keeping this lamp long-term. This will become Landfill Electronics for the great majority of buyers in 2-3 years.

  • Anyone know is it available in WA IKEA?
