Water from around The Globe?

My dad is a bit of a nutter when it comes to water and is often comparing the taste of water in places he visits to how it tastes at home.

His birthday is coming up soon and as a bit of a gag (and a bit serious), I was planning on trying to source some decent quality water from around the country / world. I got the idea from that h2o Bar art installation that was in Sydney a few years back.

I've got
-Cape Grim still water (raining water collected from southern Tasmania only when the winds are blowing northerly)
-Aqui-live (some aquifer in Victoria apparently tastes earthy?)
-Voss (apparently tastes terrible but has a cool looking bottle)

Can anyone suggest any others and perhaps where to source?

    You have a weird family.

    Fiji water is a classic
edit: Also, you can buy 'nu water' from singapore, which is recycled wastewater.

    • I didn't know nu was from overseas. Also explains why it tastes so yucky!

For even more fun get some different bottles and fill them all up with the same tap water then ask him to say which is best.

    • nothing works better than a double blind test
give them some cheese and wine in between!

I think this is funny and a good idea.
I recommend Adelaide tap water for a memorable flavour. The best vintages are after a long dry spell.

A chlorine bouquet, with chlorine undertones matched with subtle chlorine flavours.

What type of water are you looking for? "Purified" water, spring water or mineral water?
    - Evian: famous mineral water from France (ad from Evian, there is another ad with Spiderman)
-> Evian limited edition (glass bottle)
    - SPA: mineral water from Belgium
    - Nestlé water: they own a lot of brands around the world…
    - Wattwiller: I don't think you can buy it in Australia but it's a mineral water from France (0 nitrate and less sodium! So it's purer than most mineral water).

So it's purer than most mineral water.

Might as well drink distilled water at this point.

      • Wattwiller's water is not polluted by farms and by fertilisers, that's why it contains 0 nitrate/nitrite/ammonia and less sodium.

Tbt, when I buy water or drink tap water, I don't care about nitrate/nitrite. Pink hams or pink sausages contain more nitrite…

You should get 3 or 4 waters and then empty them and fill them with tap water. :D

    See what happens!

there is a restaurant in Norway with a sign telling that the waiter had personally passed the water!

Give him a bottle of tap water from New Delhi for a potentially exotic experience.

  • Pee in a bottle and call it "used" water

    • Perfect!
