    Not worth for 300.

    525 is only around $45.

    • rubbish it isn't worth it, the harmony 525 is an outdated piece of shite.

    meh… no LCD sucks

    better off with a 515 or a 525 which has a screen

    • I agree, i've got a 515 and the screen is really needed for those extra buttons that don't match up to a physical button. Also a good back up if you forget the function of a button, just go into the screen and find it that way.
Having said that, i dislike my harmony 515 for other reasons. There is often a delay with button presses, it's not a big delay but it's very noticeable when using the navigation/directional buttons. You can't just whiz through menus, type out text on a digital keyboard, etc.
Also, i recently paired it with my new PVR, and all of the navigation buttons act as if i've pressed them twice. I tried using the remote just with the database signal, and then i manually did the learning of the signals from the existing PVR remote, with the same outcome. Absolutely useless, can't use it with the PVR.
Also, the mute button for my TV only works once at a time. I can mute the sound, but then can't un-mute using the same button. Original remote has the 1 button for mute/unmute.

I only use "Devices", i don't use "Activities". I don't think it would make a difference if i used Activities though, i think the problems would still exist. Anyone had the same sort of issues with the Harmony 515, or other Harmony remotes?

If your 515 is sending double command on a single key press.

        In the setup software
        1) select Devices
        2) select your pvr
        3) select Troubleshoot
        4) select Responds too much or not enough
        5) then lower the repeats. When done, update your remote.

Worked for me when I was having problems with my 515 sending double commands on a single key press. Can also be used to increase the speed if your remote operates a device too slowly.

  • It's $29 across the road @ Fluidtek. $27.55 if you pricematch @ officeworks.

  • good luck trying to get OW to contact Fluidtek, Eddie never answers the phone!

    • They did for me, all I did was show them a printout from Fluidteks web site. And OW matched them on a Logitech remote less 5%

  • i have one of these and they're great, highly recommended (though i paid like $44 at jb a month or so back)
