These guys are ridiculously overpriced so half price seems more like RRP with them

Now I may not be Einstein but $195.00 is more than half of $349.00
I went a few weeks ago to the Collins Street one. It didn't have many suits left, yet the suits that were available weren't that cheap. It was still more expensive than regular sales they had over the years.
I'll check out a different store as I like their suits.
You should have visited Herringbone next door first. Their crazy prices make Rhodes & Beckett seem good.
these guys are akin to Kathmandu, buy nothing at RRP and proceed with caution during sales period
one thing that always irks me about R&B is that all adjustments come as additional $ - even hemming the pants (which apparently is free if you buy at original price)
if you want the suit to fit, all up you're looking at $100-200 worth of adjustments. just thought it's worth keeping that in mind…
Have you ever tried hemming your own pants? It is actually pretty easy…
I don't think that's the point. If I bought a pair of pants, I'd expect them to be hemmed. I appreciate that R&B stock unhemmed pants so they can be adjusted to the wearer, but my expectation, and most people's expectations, is that the cost of the subsequent hemming would be included in the purchase price. It's like a bakery selling you a cake, but only giving you cake batter and icing in a bag and charging extra to assemble said cake. Sure you can wear pants unhemmed, you can also eat cake batter.
I don't expect pants to be hemmed at DJs or Myer when I buy them, nor do I expect a place like Tarocash or YD. to do so. So why should R&B? I don't know any place that hems pants for free, unless you are buying a very expensive suit.
I would say that getting your pants hemmed for free is more like asking for your bakery cake to be sliced and served for you, the bakery is there to sell you a cake, not to be a full service café.
@serpserpserp:
uniqlo alters hems for free on all trousers over $30. considering R&B's markup, you'd think they could at least hem them for free. Pretty sure TM lewin does as well come to think of it
lol you pay over $500 for a suit (with RRP over $1k) and still have to go home and hem it…..?
The sales seems to be a "closing down sales"?
Still no where near cheap enough.
Did someone buy them or are they still in administration and just selling what's left?
Geez I remember when these guys rebranded from being Harrolds Shirts to R&B. At first they were great quality and at sale time an excellent buy, I still have a shirt from 10 years ago I have probably worn once every 3 or 4 weeks and it still looks vibrant today. Then after awhile the price stayed high, quality took a nose dive, and they are basically on par with TM Lewin and the like on the cheap shirts. No wonder these guys went out of business.
Why don't you all stop complaining. Do you expect to get stuff for free? Usually comments regarding items not be cheap enough come from people who make a lot of money and to stingy to spend it. These are great clothing items 100% wool. Excellent quality. It's disappointing this company is going out of business. Does Sportscraft, Rodd and Gunn, MJ Bale, Armani give free alterations on sale stuff? I think not… So why should R & B lose more money to satisfy your needs because you can't be bothered paying and xtra $30 for alterations…

$65.00 down from $119.00
That is not 50% off. Downvote as prices not true to promotion.
Good pickup
when I was shopping for suits back then Rhodes and Beckett seemed all too over priced for my budget. I used to wonder how this brand which I've never heard before outside Australia be playing at a price I'd rather go for better brands. They had boutiques in prominent places, in Adelaide and Melbourne at least. At times I will walk in and then slowly snake myself out in disgust with the excessive price. It is no surprise they went into voluntarily administration. What did they think, in this day and edge, there's no game for over price apparels when you're not even a big player.
I saw some heavy discounts in myer the other day at the R&B stand - suit jacket was around 180 and matching pants 80, so well under 300 for a full suit, which is a good price for a half canvass of this quality. Most of the sizes were larger however, common sizes were hard to find
Over inflated RRP
What they sell?
