    • Free delivery using JB however

    • thanks for this. I was able to pick up and now have it before the weekend!

  • Not a bad deal at that price. Tempted!

  • Good price. Probably more value for money compared to DJI spark given they shot at the same frame size. As a bonus, this has 3 axis compared to 2 axis in Spark. Video sample in YouTube looks promising as well.

    • Better to compare against Phantom 3 standard. The spark is a different class. Make sure u get extra batteries before they run out!

  • Bought. Thanks OP.

can any owners comment on this? is flyaway common for this particular unit?

    • +1

Hi there, I have owned 2 of these drones. Unfortunately do not expect a 'safe beginner flying experience'. The first time the drone flew away after losing contact at a range of 100m from original point. The 2nd time the drone was following the auto-home path, lost video and controller contact and the Xiro fell into the ocean. Be wary and take care when flying it, do not push it to it's limits.

      • So would you recommend this drone or not?

        • +1

Look after losing 2 Xiro Xplorers: No. You want a safe, reliable drone with a proper development team behind the product. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

  • Got one with spare battery. Told my mates, and they all got one. Thanks OP. Looks like a good unit at about 1/2 the price they are on eBay…

  • 25% Cashback at Harvey Norman with Cashrewards?

Thoughts on the V version vs the G version. I have a GoPro Hero 5 Black which has a TypeC USB so I don't think it would be compatible…

    • 25% Cashback at Harvey Norman with Cashrewards?

      what ? where?

      • Oh doesn't look like it exists… I saw a notification from the Cashrewards chrome addon but it turns out its for the HN Business and Education site which doesn't have Xiro…

    • Could you try a micro usb to type c converter? This drone with a 4K image would be unbelievable value!

thanks! bought one. the missus will kill me. :(

Thanks op - that is an excellent deal - I was looking about that cost just to get a 3 axis gimbal for my Syma X8C. That will go on gumtree when this is delivered. With wifi, 21 minutes battery life and GPS that is an awesome deal!!

  • Bought one, awesome so far.. looks cheap in videos but seems quality in real life

  • I would recommend spending abit more and getting the Phantom 3, much safer to fly (added weight) and easier to control. Not to mention the video quality that is far better.

  • Purchase experience at Harvey Norman was excellent.
Flew this for the first time today (in an open field, because nervous and safety etc) and it flew like it was on rails. Super stable. The 3 power delivery settings really help to give confidence, too. The gimbal is super well engineered and it comes with heaps of spare parts in the box: full spare set of propellers and spare shock mounts for the gimbal and spare rubber tips for the landing pods and spare tiny screws and multiple filters to fit over the camera lens (the list goes on). The controller is also super well engineered with audio prompts and vibrations for low drone battery alerts, etc.
I've flown a mate's DJI Mavic Pro and this performed admirably given the price differential. Amazing value. Folds down/disassembles to be relatively compact, too.
Reviewing the footage now it's nice and clear but the super wide field of view does distort the image a little. If you already own a GoPro I'd go for the G-version over the V-version.

    • jsut got it, been waiting for more review, Just a quick question. do u think i should buy a second battery. I am only going to be a leisure user. As for the case, do you think its ok to put it in a well protracted bag??

      • Unless you need more than 20 minutes flying time, I would not bother. As a leisurely user the battery should last you quite a few years before a replacement will be required.

    • +2

If you dont like the fisheye distortion, you can buy a lens and replace it fairly easily (tutorials on youtube). https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32588638665.html

      Ive bought one for mine.

Ordered one from JB HIFI. The QR Code looks deliberately defaced. Also the package looks tampered with as some of the seals were loose and some were applied one on top of another. Is this something to be concerned? Already emailed JB HIFI.

  • I just received mine from JB and found that all the qr code serial numbers for gimbal drone and app was crossed out. I contacted JB and they said they could not confirm the reason and that it might be a repack or that the codes are not active and the supplier has taken this step for unknown reasons. When I bought the drone it didn't say the drone was (refurbished) and seals in the box were loosen and not stuck. Should of bought it from Harvey.

    • So did they say how to setup the App to work, as it require the QR code to proceed?

      • Nope. To set it up just download xiro from the app store and power everything on and then connect your phone to the xiro wifi and go from there

      • Did you order from Melbourne?

        • Yes. Melbourne West

  • Bought one on Saturday from JB (one of the last in Brisbane), and it's rooted. Rotors would not start at all no matter how much we tried. Have to take it back and be at the mercy of the drone gods to see if we'll be getting another or a refund :S

    • I tried mine without gps and it wouldn't start unless you started the motors in mode 2. Also were your QR codes damaged or crossed out too?

      • We tried EVERYTHING! Changed modes, no range-extender, no gimbal, no rotor-blades. It would just flash yellow really quickly when we were pulling the controller sticks down to start. And as we got it from a physical shop, the QR codes were hunky-dory, nothing crossed out. sigh

        • Yo when I first got it I tried to start the motors and the same thing happened, the yellow lights flashed rapidly until I let go of the sticks and it flash yellow normal again. I then made sure the battery lock was pushed up and switch the level switch 1,2,3 to level 2 and pulled the left right stick down to the outside corner and the motors started. So im not sure what youre experiencing probs.

        • Have you given the flight control firmware update a crack (only as a last resort however wouldn't recommend for those without any issues). Should note that it seems to work better on Macs and might take a few go's. Also make sure that you follow the steps properly and in order. Good luck mate hope that helps.

  • Got mine today and everything seems ok, no scribbled out qr codes and i seem to have received a rapoo p20 powerbank aswell? (not sure if this is included with all the drones or not)

    • Nope I didn't get a Power bank

    • I had the powerbank too, Brought from JB

    • That's not fair

      • Does that mean those with Powerbank has some issues with the drone?

        • I didn't get the power bank and I'm having issues with the drone.

    • @zBen2014 From JB?

      • So strange. It's the first time buying from JB for me

      • Yep I bought from JB, had a yellow sticker on the front of the box saying "free power bank" in the top left

  • got mine 2 days ago with a power bank.

When I opened the box it seems that it has been repacked or something as I can see a double sticker on some of the packagings inside and also a cutter marks on one of the parts boxes.

Despite the marks, the drone and all of the parts look good and were all still in their plastic packaging (maybe a display unit?)

I haven't tried it if the drone is working or nor as I'm in a no-fly zone but hopefully it will work.

  • For those having issues with theirs maybe give the flight control firmware update a crack. If your drone is working fine tho I would highly recommend you DO NOT do the updates as I’ve seen a fair few people reporting screwups afterwards. As they say if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it. But as a last resort however it’s well worth a shot. Also seems to work better on Macs and if things do not work out the first time keep on trying but make sure you follow the steps properly and in order. Good luck hope that helps someone.

    • Forgot to add will need to download XIRO assistant first up

      http://xirodrone.com/support/download

Xplorer V > Software > XIRO Assistant (Mac or Windows - recommend doing it on a Mac)

  • Also would highly recommend flying without the gimbal and camera attached at first until you get a hang of how the drone behaves, it's operating range etc. Have come across a fair few cases online where people have flown it with everything attached in the beginning only to end up with the gimbal and camera damaged after just a few flights.

  • Got mine on Friday. Unpacked today, and thought I'd charge it all up ready for a test flight - charger dead :-( . Back to JB …..

  • the remote controller takes forever to get fully charged..anyone else have this issue?

  • Hi. I have one of these but the non camera version. If anyone decides to upgrade their camera and gimbal to the gopro type, I would be interested in buying their standard camera/gimbal off you. Just PM me. Thanks!
