I always get stuck on "Tell me about yourself."

No matter how many answer guides I've read, I still don't know how to answer that, and I suspect the answer should be different based on what position it is you're applying for.

Job market is really tough right now. Private sector keeps downsizing. Employers are very choosy (years of proven experience needed) and know they can afford to be.

"What would you like to know about me?" "My achievements, my hobbies, how do I read myself…." Watch the Blacklist and learn how to do personal profiling.

      • Is that the James Spader procedural drama? I saw 3 episodes of that and thought it sucked.

It has remained tough post-GFC and will likely never recover (and gets harder every day as the population, and the proportion of that population with or studying for a degree, increases). It truly is a nasty time to be alive.

I've said that before, but people say "you just suck" "there are jobs out there, you just have to try harder" "stop making excuses and look in the mirror". etc.

According to the author bio: " Lavie holds a B.S. degree in Marketing from Yeshiva University, "

    • He also wrote 'Can I wear my Kippah on job interviews?', not even kidding.

      Here he is:

Are you guys slagging jews now? Wtf?

By the way Yeshivah University is 164 ranked university in the world.

How is a demonstrable statement of fact 'slagging'? Are you disputing it, or do you just have a hair trigger on your victim card.

I question any and all ebooks regarding persuasion and negotiation that end up being free.

      • That video was terrifying

I just thought that Studying BS in Marketing was quite appropriate and funny.

      • It was. Disregard the above.

Reading the comments gave me herpes

  • Judging by the amount of time I have been spending at work lately checking OzBargain for EBAY's 20% deal, I think I should get this book just in case.
