I'm looking for a 24" screen for my laptop. No gaming, so just general use. My budget is <$120 though. My laptop only has a DVI out, so preferably there's DVI support.
Any thought appreciated.

Nothing new around that price range (need to push $150 for 24", will only find new 21.5" monitors <$120, e.g. this), even with the current eBay deals.
This is probably the closest you will get to your requirements. It is out of stock online but looks to be in stock in stores all around the country - not sure where you live but type in your post code and check where you can get one. Comes with a 3 year warranty.

I would wait till the next hard garbage collection day and shop for one in the naturatrip. That's how I got my desktop computer with 24" lcd

Benq GW2270. These are the current best value for the money. Unless you put it side by side next to a 24", you won't notice the difference.
This is a VA panel, try to stay away from anything TN panel in this price range since they look revolting.
It is quite hard to find new 24" monitor under $120. If you don't mind refurbished one, there is one on eBay
