I am a student , currently looking for a used car for school and my pizza delivery part time job. Daily drive for about 20km.
Is there any recommendation for Toyota Corolla Ascent or Suzuki Swift Budget 6000-7000

What is the difference of fully imported from Japan and non fully mate?
Easy - the latter was only partially imported. Half of it is still in Japan.
how can I figure it out if I buy from private user@.@? It looks very complicated as I have no sense about car.
@amaninaku: Sorry, that was a joke. I can imagine that vin code will be different for Japan and Australia.
the radio won't work and there a few hoops to jump through to get it here.
Made in Japan hatch more reliable. Made in Thailand sedan less reliable.
The fk?
Swift is fully imported. How can it be partially imported? Lol
Anything Toyota and you can't go wrong.
Had a glass of water from Toyota… tasted pretty plain
I thought so too until my 2009 Kluger….dropped all it's engine oil the other day. A rubber hose split that in later models is steel……grr.

US only.
Although not a recall in Australia, it will was still a "Customer Satisfaction Exercise" at Toyota dealers. If you've had the vehicle serviced at a Toyota dealer, they should've picked up on it.
Thanks, I plan on discussing this with them at the next service (I ended up getting the repair done at an independent mechanic although all other servicing has been done at Toyota Dealers).
Apparently there is another rubber hose going up the the Variable Valve arrangement that can also persish.
Grr
You may be able to get a current shape Manual Nissan Pulsar towards the top end of your budget.
Manual
manual is a bad choice for a delivery vehicle. no spare hand to check the scanner/phone.
Scanner? Don't think that will be an issue for delivering pizza.
Toyota…
Definitely the Suzuki……sorry, typo…. I meant Toyota :P
The Toyota will be cheaper to maintain, but the Suzuki may be more "fun" to drive. Go the Toyota.
IMO, toyota, they are reliable cars and pretty cheap to maintain.
Swift should have better fuel economy
If you are going to be boring i would chose a Nissan Tiida its probably the best value for this price range.
I'm actually gonna say that either will be bloody reliable for 250,000km
Get the newest, lowest mileage one you can get between those 2 and you'll be fine.
Make sure you get it mechanically checked and REVS checked
I agree with Spacebar.
I have owned and driven both alot.
Swift is better around town, but the suspension and wheel base being shorter is not as good for longer journeys or for country driving.
The Toyota has more standard features and is more comfortable, but are harder to gauge where the back of the car is when you reverse.
They really are two different cars sizes.
It really shouldn't be compared as the Toyota was what 22000-23000 brand new vs Swift 15900-17000.
I own the Toyota corolla ascent 2002 hatchback model (manual) and have had no issues so far. I've owned it for 5 years+. It had 120ks when I first purchased it. Very reliable and has plenty of space. Besides a few scratches by me there has been no faults. Bear in mind I get it serviced at least once a year.
On a side note I had to get car insurance recently and SGIC has been the cheapest for me with $100 dollar online deals atm. Hope it helps!
You should be able to get a manual Toyota Corolla with a lot less than 100,000km on it for your price range - I found one for my son with only 80,000km for $6500. Fantastic first car.
This is a good time to buy cars as a lot of people get the EOFY deals and are looking to get rid of their old vehicles. Look for 10 year old vehicles with average mileage for around 3-5k (manual) and 4-6k (auto). A car within the 100,000 kms to 200,000kms will generally work well, even if its not a Toyota or Suzuki, but if you're looking for engine efficiency, Suzuki is the way to go. Toyota has best rep for reliability.
Gumtree would be your best bet for cars of this range and my personal recommendation is a Suzuki Swift or SX4. Lastly, don't be afraid to quote approx $1000 below 'market' value. These valuations are inflated and by no means reflect actual demand at those prices.
Toyota Corolla Ascent
Suzuki Swift
Toyota Yaris
Do you have any concept of the market price of above model for the the same year built within 2007 , and 200000 km,mate?
Not really sure; you'll most likely get some within the lower end of the range quoted above.
Suzuki hands down. Toyota are still getting by on their name in quality from 15 years ago when they were actually good. All the swifts from 05 onwards are much better value for money.
Toyota Corolla Ascent or Suzuki Swift Budget
these vehicle aren't really comparable. they're in different categories and there is a 30% price difference in the drive away base model.
Actually , what is the market price for the same year built within 2007 , and 200000 km for
Toyota Corolla Ascent
Suzuki Swift
Toyota Yaris
Since the price on gumtree and car sales seem not reliable
Swift is more comparable to a Yaris, really.
Which I suggest if you are just doing delivery and there isn't alot of hills in your area.
What if i will have road trip during the sem break mate?
Corolla Hatch, plus fully imported from Japan.
