Looks like Optus have brought the iPhone SE into their prepaid range.

Not on the Optus website but currently available at Big W for $449 (shows saving of $20 so normal price should be $469, comes with a $50 sim starter kit).

Same cost as the Telstra version but comes with a $50 sim starter kit instead of a $30 sim starter kit.

Optus website says that prepaid iphones all come unlocked but will wait for someone to test it

Big W sell the unlocked version for $569 but better off getting this one or the Telstra one where many people have had it unlocked for free.

but you can save 25% with current family and friends deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/309310 offer expiring 25 june 2017

so it worked out to $30 a month, you have the phone and unlimited call / sms + 1gb of data.

    it is like this deal $449 + ($11.30 a month plan /24mths)

    • i thought about that, but the new iphone is coming out in a few months. Hopefully the price will drop on their older phones.

I'd imagine the SE wouldn't be affected as it's a separate range.

        • +1

Haha yeah unless Apple releases SE2

        • +1

@wtfnodeal: I guess the could. It's 2 gen old, I think. I like the size of the SE, so wouldn't be against a refresh.

  • Same for Telstra iPhone SE 32GB but with free unlock.

  • Does this have the processor from the 6S?

My 6 is almost unusably slow.

    • +2

If you think your 6 is unusable slow you won't see much difference in going up a single step in processor… perhaps there's something else making your 6 unusable slow. Perhaps try a restore.

      • More a warning to others. Do you know the answer or

Bit anecdotal but I have a 6 128gb that is 90% full and still runs like new. Definitely recommend that you try a restore.

      • Just did it a few weeks ago :(

        • That's odd. I'd try a fresh install and being selective about the apps. Maybe it's an app causing the issue?

      • I hammered Pokemon GO and now my iPhone 6 runs like garbage. Also it's full of apps and stuff, I don't want a fresh start just yet.

  • whats the warranty? will this work with amaysim?

I just ordered one with Afterpay. I'm with Telstra, so I hope it's unlocked.

Please let me know when you got it? I'm looking to get one as well

Delivery estimate Wednesday. Was hoping it’s be overnight shipping, but it’s still at chollera sorting facility according to tracking. I live right next to a Big W that probably has this in stock :(

Arrived today. Seems to work fine on my Telstra prepaid sim even though the iPhone box came with an Optus simcard taped to it. It runs very fast and smooth compared to my old 6 and if you pay for extra iCloud storage and have good wifi at home or work then the 32GB isn't a problem.
