Some horrible reviews on their own site about this product.

    • Definitely better off sticking with the recommendations on Dashcamtalk

  • Some reviews sound good while the others not so good. Looks like a hit and miss

"Granted it's cheap but it still doesn't provide the advertised features. It's field of view is nowhere near the advertised 170 degrees, even if you added the horizontal and vertical angles together! I couldn't get the thing to produce a 1080p video no matter which resolution setting I chose. it offers 640x480, 720p and 1080p. In fact the output files of all three resolutions appeared to be the same low res around 480 lines. The alleged 1080p AVI file that came out of it still showed 1280x720 in the file properties yet still appeared to be 480 lines but widescreen 16x9 ratio. Could only just read the number plate of the car directly in front while stationary at traffic lights. I used a 16GB SDHC micro SD card. Should have worked. The menu for the video size didn't even align on the screen correctly. Battery life is approximately 1 - 2 minutes after an overnight charge. Having said that it still produces video even thought it might only be useful for entertainment purposes."

this person failed to understand the design of the batteries in these dash cams.
      http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/2-4-1080p-Dash-Cam/…

      200 mAh battery included

these dash cams aren't meant to be used as a point & shot cams. the 200mah batteries are designed to close the last recording mov file.

      • I was more concernedabout the poor quality video. There's plenty of other comments that suggest underwhelming performance.

        • hence the price. clearance price to offload a dud model.

  • Does this mean the original price had a $100+ markup?

Looks and sounds exactly like this but with a huge markup?

something isn't right with the specs.
      Photo mode: 5million
      Pixels: 500Mega
      Video Code: MJPG
      Battery: Built-in
      Camera Resolution: 1920x1080

      • I don't mean that particular one, just all the "2.4" 1080p Dash Cams" that are all like $12. Look exactly like this.. Just don't see the difference personally.

  • +1

$40 isn't bad from a reputable store. you can easily return the dash cam if it isn't fit for purpose.

Show local shops a middle finger instead of buying these crappy techs frok them.

I bought one of these and it failed in Victorian summer. Then i bought a lesser expensive and more bang for the buck VIOFO 119 with gps and its been working great since last year.

Check the non discounted price 140 dollors. Because they failed to sell the product on that price which is 300% more the original manufacturering cost, now, they are being generous and want your money

It's not even worth $40. This camera is allegedly a 480p camera upscaled to 1080p and the claims about wide angle are false, based on the reviews. The ACCC should be on their arses for selling a product which clearly does not do what is advertised.

  • +3

Not even worth $40. Good for customers who haven't discovered the joys of importing better products straight from China.

  • Begging for more visibility.

    Guys don't buy this.
