  • Unless I am doing something wrong, seems like I can't just create another ebay account and use the voucher again with my paypal?

Forgot to buy wife's rice cooker with the first item!

    • Locked by paypal account.

  • Finally bit the bullet on a new tablet. Samsung Galaxy S2, 8 inch Wifi for $374 delivered from Bing Lee cheapest local stock I've seen.

  • Question……. If you add multiple items from the one seller and then it makes you request a total from this seller to combine postage, can you still get the items using the discount code? It appears that once you click commit to buy and send, the discount code offer will have ran out by the time you get a response from the seller. Has anyone else discovered this problem?

  • I added coupled of items from international sellers, so there were multiple currencies in my cart and as such I have to checkout each currency separately. Will I able to use the code on all my items or once it is applied to the AUD items will that be considered it single use?

    • Nope unfortunately, single use only. Use another account.

Thats 2 sales I've had to give up on now due to these glitches. Us Western Australians get shafted again!

  • Damn just missed it

expired 5 mins before midnight, revive the deal!!!!

    • I got in at 3 minutes to midnight!

      • Same here.

  • Message to self: check OB @ 11.30pm, not 11.55pm.

    • Same here! lol

Every time they have these short deals, I ALWAAAAAAYS end up placing my order when there is like 5 minutes left and miss out!!!! Anyone similar? I think we have a time management problem.

    • Bingo. 11:42pm..missed it! Central time.

  • Made it with 3 minutes to spare - that'll teach me to finish watching a movie on SBS!

I'll have to learn to be quicker - but if I'd seen this earlier I would probably have bought more stuff, mainly impulse buying.

I've been waiting for a 20% off discount on Ebay so I could buy a Panasonic SD-2501 Bread Maker from the Good Guys - but 15% is fine.

No price increase from when I was shopping for it 3 days ago, so I'm happy with $186.

I'd been browsing since about 10pm, adding stuff to my cart. Didn't apply the coupon until 11:58pm and didn't "Pay Now" until 11:59pm!

TBH I was sure I'd missed it but it ended up going through!

    • +1

Exactly the same situation mate! Nothing like the last minute jitters to get it through….

  • The heck with these few hours promo? Came back from dinner to find I just missed up on big sale… Ffs keep it going for at least a day!

  • I got the PayPal payment confirmation email at 11.58.
Then at 12.03 the Ebay email "Sorry, we were not able to process your PayPal payment"
… checked PayPal, at least this time the funds have been 'refunded' but still have to wait days for it to be back in bank account.

    • Had the same issue….PayPal stuffed up last minute :(

  • Lol paniced saw deal at 11.40pm and rushed through an order for a dashcam by 11.55pm… no research… oh wells… prob regret it later!

CHOPCHOP….that's what I need to do to my credit card… ~$1500 spent, but at least I saved $250! :D

Wake up to my 7 items back in my cart, and all items refunded!!??

Why did this fail? All went through fine at 10pm last night

    • Same!!! WTF.

      • I called ebay and they tell me to contact the seller lol..

  • Where the heck did this deal come from? I usually check Ozbargain a few times a day and the day that I was busy this comes up. Bah first world problems.

  • Yep, my payment went thru, got up in the morning payapal reversed the transaction claiming "Voucher Reversal". It showed payment on the 14/6 and refund at 12:02 on the 15/6.

    • Same issue here. Looks like they refunded everything and they are back in my cart.

Wtf? Checked out 10 items at 11pm last night, didnt get an email, this morning all items refunded on paypal?

  • Hmmm I have a theory, is your paypal email different to your ebay email address? I know some codes need them to be the same. Anybody called them yet to see why?

  • hey guys, I'm new and how do I not miss any of these deals? I get the newsletter every morning but by the time I check most of the deals have already expired the night before, like this one.. :( do I simply have to check the site manually every night?
    cheers

    • All day and all night too if you don't want to miss deals. Some only last a few hours. Some last minutes before sold out. It's the random nature of it. The best ones often go quick.

    • Best to check the site when you can.

  • I just called ebay and they can't figure out why it glitched. They are logging a ticket and will get back to me. If you did had yours cancel I suggest you do the same. Did not take too long on the phone.

    • no luck here. got transferred to paypal.

  • I placed an order at 8pm last night, for a pram coming from the US for $381.97 including postage, exact same one is on sale at my local baby shop for $689. Order has been shipped already!!

  • For those considering buying a laptop consider the dual benefit of some credit cards. My ANZ Low Rate Platinum card gives me free travel insurance with coverage on any new item purchased within 3 months on the same card. In addition, they add one year warranty onto the 2 years provided under consumer laws. For Macs this equates to free Apple care. Not bad, but not possible if you use Paypal that this deal forces you to do.

  • Curiosity question

When was the last time or how often is there a 20% off deal?

Was there a maximum discount off?

    • +1

Struggling to find the last time it was 20% off sitewide on eBay. I think it was about 3 years ago.. not quite sure.

      • oh ok,

I thought i saw a 20% off about 6 months ago, but I was probably mistaken,

im looking at a 5k purchase, so 15% is fine, however limited to $300 sux,

        • +1

They had a 15% off with max discount of $600 the other week. keep your eyes peeled on wednesday night for their hump deals or the wednesday after.
