Barastoc Darling Downs Layer - 20kg
Barastoc Golden Yolk 22kg Bonus Bag

  • Of course I ordered a food storage container with the 30% off, could have saved another $10 off it. Although sent them an email cancelling the original order then will reorder it once that's done.

Any one know how long this coupon lasts for?

  • You're a legend in my dogs lunch box, cheers mate.

  • So this basically takes $10 off - do you place separate orders to take $10 off each bag you order ? (would that work?)

    • Yep, that's what I did & they confirmed.

Yum. This should last me a while.

great deal, buyer beware that this food can/does affect sensitive dog tummys. Unfortunately it severely bloated my beagle cross and she was forever thirsty.
I have been a long time customer of BlackHawk but that experience changed my opinion. Hopefully it does well for your doggies but if you see increased bloating/weight or water consumption change immediately

    • +1

Also if thirsty you may want to get some blood tests done. I have seen a few dogs die at young ages due to renal failure that seemed to be caused by Blackhawk. Change food for a while and those that had high blood test results returned to normal after changing diet.

I use to be very pro Blackhawk until I notice this pattern.

      • ^exactly right my friend. Blackhawk changed and my dog nearly died because of it, hopefully that comment can save a pup somewhere.

  • Great price. Thanks

“I was buying a large bag of dog food for my dog and standing in line at the check out.

“A woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

“On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting the Dog Food Diet again although I probably shouldn’t because I’d ended up in the hospital last time, but that I’d lost 10 kgs before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

“I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

“I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her.

“Horrified, she asked if I’d ended up in the hospital in that condition because I had been poisoned by the dog food. I told her no; I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle’s ass and a car hit me.

“I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard.”

    PLEASE NOTE:

Blackhawk is not a 5 star dog food anymore.
Once Australian, they sold to NZ and they have changed the ingredients, resulting in the downgrade.
Therefore the likely reason for 'sales'.

Can you recommend an similarly priced alternative (give or take a few dollars)?

      • Keen for some recommendations also. Dog used to love this stuff and has recently become reluctant to eat Black Hawk

        • I get my info from here
          http://www.petfoodreviews.com.au/dry-dog-food/best-dry-dog-f…

          He updates, seems good.
Unfortunately, you have to go through them all to see his ratings.

My picks for this month are
          Meals for Mutts
          Taste of the Wild
          Earthborn Holistic

K9 Natural and Frontier Pets are also high rated but the food is dried and way too exy.

        This site is great http://www.petfoodreviews.com.au/

Good website but even better for your dog's health is a change to fresh food and raw meaty bones. The vets who push kibble feeding are the only health professionals of any kind who recommend ultra processed food. At the academic level they are far too influenced by the global pet food companies. This is a good site for information https://www.facebook.com/groups/rawfeedingaustralia/

        • @Flet: academic = financial. Profit from sales, profit from vet bills, etc

        • Especially Hills Scientific. Same ingredients as Supermarket grade food yet price of Premium.

Only buy the Hills prescription if required.

      • We switched from Black Hawk to Ivory Coat after our dog's skin flared up and his coat went really greasy after going from Black Hawk puppy formula to Black Hawk adult. Our dog seemed to prefer it, he'd eat more of it, his skin improved, his poops were much smaller and no more stinky farts!

We switched again to Big Dog RAW three months ago and I've never seen him so excited for food- a little more expensive but worth it i reckon :)

For those saying it's rubbish what do you use now? I have heard a lot of complaints of late but my lad has been fine on it still

    • +1

I'm actually curious to know this too.

I changed my Labrador from Advance to Black Hawk a year ago thinking is was the better option (I'm assuming it still is). Although I'm happy to try and alternative, especially if its rated better.

      • Nothing wrong with Advance, better than Black Hawk at least.

    • I feed my dog Ivory Coat

  • What's the minimum spent to use this code, anyone know?

    • i think it is 20 to 25$, not sure. Tried with Endogard which is about 18$ but not worked. So ordered with 2 packs for the code and it worked (36$-10$=26$)

      • +1

        Think it's $30, just tried $27 didn't work, but $31 worked! :D

  • Where do you enter the discount code? Ive gone all the way through an order and cant see where to put it

    • On the righthand side of the page where you enter your credit card info, just below your order list there is a "Apply Promotion Code +" button.
