I went last year and found their normal prices were much higher than elsewhere, but there were still some bargains to be found. I picked up some MGC Gin (~$55?) and Balvenie Caribbean Cask (just shy of $100 with a free Glencairn glass).

    • True - some things, particularly some of the spirits, are overpriced but the discount often brings them to slightly below Dan Murphy's prices. Much of the wine is reasonably priced, or cannot be easily found elsewhere.

I wanted to second this. It is still cheaper than DM, but it doesn't feel like a bargain… especially when I went Year on Year and the cost for the same item had inflated significantly.

Either way, it's still a good sale, the range is decent and you can go find an interesting bottle that you wouldn't otherwise be able to spot outside of another boutique type bottle shop.

  • Great range of craft beers. They were on par price wise with the International Beer Shop nearby so 30% off is a nice bonus :-)

  • Re store used to stock 500ml bottles of Hoyts 80% ethanol for $5.
It was about the only place in WA that did. Somehow possible because they were about the only food shop here that had a liquor license.
Of course no liquor tax was paid as it was food flavouring.

    Those were the days.

    • If it wasn't considered liquor, why was a liquor license needed?

Who are you asking? I said "somehow".

Tax regulation is separate from sales regulation.
