I got this email in Feb and it had heaps of T&C's:

"To get your bonus Qantas Points with Woolworths, you must be a member of Woolworths Rewards, link your Qantas Frequent Flyer number to your Woolworths Rewards accounts, opt-in to convert your Woolworths Dollars to Qantas Points and earn 2,000 Woolworths points by 9pm 13 March 2017."

So I think you need to earn that many points to get the bonus 1000, and they probs just tweaked the dates. Plus it's pretty hard to earn 2000 points in 3 days..

  • +3

They seemed to have removed the conditions of having earned 2000 points though. In the latest, they make it seem like all you do is change your preferred reward?

    • +1

Have you got a link to the T&C's? Highly doubt they're just giving away 1k points just for that.

I put the screenshot of the ad up. If you go to 'learn more' it just took you to the everyday rewards site. There are no Terms and Conditions

I had this offer emailed to me, info below:

*To get 1,000 bonus Qantas Points with Woolworths, you must be a member of Woolworths Rewards, link your Qantas Frequent Flyer number to your Woolworths Rewards account and opt-in to convert your Woolworths Dollars to Qantas Points by 6am (AEST) 14 June 2017. Every 2,000 Woolworths Points earned will be converted to 10 Woolworths Dollars which will then be converted to 870 Qantas Points. The next conversion by Woolworths will occur on 15 June 2017, to be part of this conversion, you need to select Qantas Points as your reward option by 6am (AEST) 14 June 2017. Please allow up to seven days from Woolworths' conversion date for Qantas Points to appear in your Qantas Frequent Flyer Account. Selected Caltex Woolworths fuel outlets excludes all Tasmania locations and Caltex Woolworths fuel outlets with a Star Mart or Star Shop. Woolworths Rewards is not available in Tasmania.

Does that mean you need to have at least 10 Woolworths Dollars in your account in order to be part of the conversion and get the bonus 1000 Qantas points?

        • @jackofspade: Maybe; am wondering when the bonus points will appear. As you suspected they'll probably lump it with the 870 standard FF points as part of the reward for 2000 everyday reward points conversion.

        • @CLoSeR:

I have heard that people already have the standard points after the 15 June transfer but I haven't heard anything about the bonus points.

        • @pointscrazy: Hmm… I usually have mine set to $10 off shop as I feel the 870 FF bonus is not worth it.

Hoping they'll gimme bonus points soon so I can switch back.

  • +1

It doesn't say that any points have to be transferred to get the 1000 QFF points, just that you have your preferences set to QFF points on the selected date. I will be changing my preference back by 16 June so as to not lose any Woolworths points but gain the QFF points.

    • I wanna do that too…I already have over 2000 Woolworths points, if I change the preference back by 16 June will they not be transferred?

      • +2

If you have enough points there on June 15, the transfer date, they will be converted to QFF points instead of $10 off your next shop. It might take time for them to end up at QFF but they should disappear from your Woolworths account fairly quickly.

I don't have enough points in my Woolworths account at the moment to transfer to QFF. That's the only reason I'm taking a risk on this promotion.

        • Thanks. Bad timing for me as I have too many points. I wonder if I change the preference to QFF before 14 June, then change it back on 15 June, whether my points will be converted and whether I'll receive the bonus points. The T&C's don't seem to say anything other than you need to change the preference before 14 June, nothing about how long you have to leave it at that preference.

  • Looks like Qantas is sponsor for this campaign, not sure what is the trigger point for Qantas if someone just changes his/her settings in Woolworthsreward.

  • Wonder if you already do this, if you can opt out then back in again, to get the bonus?

    • +3

I already had it set to Qantas points, so changed it to "Bank points for Christmas", waited till I got the switch confirmation email then changed it back to Qantas points. No idea if it will work or not, fingers crossed.

Just tried the same bonez, worth a shot.

      • Although the new rewards program yields less Qantas points than the old program (if you choose to be rewarded this way), I find that the WW dollars they now give are more valuable than the Qantas points that they used to give before.

        • +2

For me, Woolworths dollars are more valuable than QFF points but I still have a use for QFF points especially bonus points. That's one of the reasons I'm taking the risk and making the change for the bonus points but converting back before I lose any Woolworths Dollars.

  • +2

Once you change it, it says you can switch back anytime, so once I get the points into my account,I'll be moving it back to Woolworths dollars

  • +3

I used to have my Woolworths linked up to my QFF, always shopped Woolworths and collected loads of points, loved it. After they changed it and it fell apart I stopped. Now they've dreamed up some convoluted complicated alternative that is less useful, requires you to meet shopping targets and convert points they can get nicked. They threw my loyalty away so now I will shop wherever and whenever I want.

    • +2

I could've written this whole paragraph. Used to go out of my way to shop at woolies. Not anymore.

  • Hey OP, just wondering if this offer is obtainable through a specific link and not the general one that you posted. Do you know? Thanks!

  • I have got this in feb target offer already. can we get it again?

  • Can't be bothered with their stupid schemes. It's about time the ACCC forced discounts to be on the price of the product only, no stupid programs like woolworths dollars allowed. And no cross subsidisation, eg with Woolworths petrol

    • Yea, kill off coupons too, and sales as well.

Infact marketing is just a waste and additional cost to products as well borne by consumers, kill advertisements and marketing as well yea?

      • Pretty sure you're being sarcastic, but regardless, I have to agree. Mind you, if we woke up one day and all advertising was banned, you can bet that every cent currently spent on advertising would just be redirected toward paying third-world spammers to influence opinion on social media. Have you heard the Woolworths are the people of fresh food? I doing my shop there all days!

      • Coupons (if no nasty special requirements to be valid) and sales apply directly to the price of the product. Totally different.

Woolworths dollars are an obfuscation that don't directly reduce the price and are an unfair mechanism to lock customers into not shopping elsewhere, thus are anti competitive.

        My point is totally valid.

  • Ok, my 1000 bonus points qff just posted.

    • Yes, mine have been posted as well. The experiment worked.

  • For those who made the switch to Qantas FF reward, do you get your 1000 bonus points within 7 days after the conversion date? There is nothing credited to my Qantas FF account. Is there something else I need to do other than making the reward switch to get the 1000 bonus points? Qantas FF live chat support is hopeless and CS phone is perpetually busy.:(

Please allow up to seven days from Woolworths' conversion date for Qantas Points to appear in your Qantas Frequent Flyer Account.

    • The base points were converted on June 15 for those who had points to convert. The 1000 bonus points posted about 7 days later. Did you swap to QFF points as part of a targeted offer? It appears there are various offers around at the moment, but most appear to be targeted.

      • Did not switch to QFF points as part of targeted offer. Managed to get QFF CS after almost 45min wait. Confirmed that 1000 bonus points would be posted within 7 days after conversion date and I supposed to get them by end of today. Would update when I receive the bonus points. Thanks.

        • No bonus points and QFF CS can't help.:(
