what makes it potato quality?
Dead pixels, off colour, etc
Yep, Potato. Maybe even pumpkin?
@goober: that reminds me of the Kogan TV I own atm lol. Yellow is so off it's closer to light brown.
@EnterTheShiftKey: lulz at the Kogan poo brown colour gamut.
I have one and none of these are problems, no dead pixels and colours are good, black is black.
Sound is however potato quality.
Are there any reviews on this unit?
Contemplating using it as a monitor. Just want to know what the colour gamut etc are like.
There's this 55" Kogan UHD TV on YouTube, but not 100% sure if it's the same model, and the guy who posted it didn't say anything. He responded to few questions in the comments though, so check it out.
That's probably the only way you will get 4K, given:
"
Personal Video Recorder Yes
Supported USB Media Types TS, MPG, MP4, VOB, MKV, MOV, WMV, FLV, H.264, MPEG, Xvid (Max resolution 1080p)
"
unless it's merely poorly worded and the caveat is just for the Xvid format.
Still, nice price.
I would honestly just buy this Hisence https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/311260 from the good guys for $795
Then go back an hour later and claim the 120% difference price promise
You can also do this online
Link is dead in that deal.
The hisense television.
As long as it's available instore should be fine
Funnily enough there seems to be another listing for the same TV: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-series-8-49-ku8000-4k-led…
Yeh, that's the official Kogan site, for the morning show special channel 9 they've created the "kogan9.com".
I saw this yesterday, and was checking to see if already posted as aired again today.
This is the series 8, they have a series 9 now with a few extra features, android, netflix etc:
https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-series-9-49inch-mu9000-ag… for $599 ($50 more than "usual price", I haven't compared anything further than the obvious tags though.
Post linked site also has Kogan 18V Stick Vacuum & Accessories Kit for $99 shipped, regular price $185
Would I be best to buy this or go for a 2nd Hand Sony Bravia 46z550 for $300? Any advice would be great, thanks.
horse for courses i'd say.. personally i'd spend the xtra dosh and buy a hisense but if $400 is your price point for a telly, this would be hard to overlook I reckon for a 50". The second hand will be a better picture but then again, it could die the following day without warranty.
This deal is back again.
Yes, the link still works for me as right now.
Potato quality. But prob great for a spare room at that price
