[HACK] 2 Months Free Netflix ($27.96AUD Credited to Your Account), Then an Extra 4 Months for $28AUD - Credit Card Required

3740

This deal is only open to Singapore residents as per their T's & C's, but I thought I'd try it anyway to see what happens. It worked perfectly for me, I applied the two months free Netflix to my Australian Netflix account without a problem (because of SGD>AUD exchange rate, you'll get approximately $27.96AUD credited to your Netflix account)

NOTE: You will require a valid credit card for this deal, and it WILL be billed after two months unless you cancel on their website prior to two months elapsing. They may do a $1 authorisation on your card to prove it's real. This amount gets refunded to your account within a few days by your bank.

Mod: The instructions to obtain the deal have been removed and the deal marked as expired due to a takedown request from LiveUp.

  • thank you

  • I have used 2 credit cards and 2 email ids and uptil now, I have been able to redeem $56. I think there is apparently no limit to it??

    • I think Netflix may have a $100 credit limit.

    • +1

You can do it 4 times. The 5th will not work this has been said by another user on here and now myself as I just tested and my 5th won't go through.

      • Do you still have the code for the 5th? For some reason its not working for me

        • +1

Yeah it just won't add to my Netflix account tells me to sign up for a new Netflix account

Sorry, but this offer can’t be found. You may still sign up for a Netflix account without this offer, or return to the partner website and try again.

    • Delete your credit card info from each account and you can use the same card over and over.

I'm amazed people think that their credit won't be revoked. I'm sure they are associating accounts to IP addresses…

    • Im 99% sure these wont get 'revoked'.

Has there ever been any instance where gift credit on netflix was revoked??
I remember my first netflix hack with the activation of prepaid optus sim cards.
It helped working in a Dick Smith as well, all those ununsed prepaid cards sitting in a cupboard in there demo boxes ;)

  • anyone got same as mine?

can't seem to find any promo code to add on to my netflix account..

    • Yep, that's exactly what mine looks like - it automatically adds it for you once you click the link.

I think there will be statues built for SavageCarrot after this. I was delighted doing it once, to come and see the comments that someone hadn't been able to do it for a fifth time made me question how hard I'm really trying!! :D

    • Those are the professionals. I wouldn't beat myself up over it. ;)

  • I've got a card registered in singapore, hopefully this works!

    $95 Netflix credit, thanks

    • What postcode did you use? I tried with few different addresses, none of them worked - AMEX, VISA credit cards. Keep getting "Payment not Completed" error messages.

      • Enter postcode and unit / street no

So if you cancel the Lazada.sg membership, does Netflix charge you after the 2 months trial? What happens if you upgrade the membership to 4K? It says it will charge my card after 1month?

  • +1

Tried 4 cards and payment not successfully but got charged $1 on each. Seems no luck for me.
Anyone have spare Netflix to share?
    Thanks

    • Change the address like others have suggested and it should work (did for me)

      • What address did you use?

      • Ok i changed to other address from other shopping center shop and went through. But couldn't use it 3 times so gotta change to others address.
Not sure a few $1 will be refunded or not…

    Thanks OP! $107 Credit

  • I remember the Australian Government also being pissed off we are paying un-justified higher prices for digital content… After issuing a please explain, there was neva a solid reason given… We were advised to possibly use VPN indirectly as a result to even the score if I remember correct. This is an example of that in my opionion.

Aussies need to get a fair go when it comes to internanional digital content. Or THIS WILL continue.

    Thanks a lot.

for some reason it shows as 23 on my account. oh,well, extra free Netflix for a bit. :-)

  • Does this still work if my Netflix account is linked to my iTunes for payment method?

  • +1

That worked like a charm. Specially the part where you can do it a couple of times. Thanks a bunch!

  • +11

Why are people getting so upset about this? You sign up, and either save a bit of money, or you get a refund and it doesn't work out.

Some of you are making it out like we're importing drugs or the AFP is going to come knocking on your doors and question you for your activities…

  • They may cancel it and all - but maybe you could sign up one account without actually redeeming the credit and use it after all this is over.. Who's to know that it's not a legit subscription in a weeks time? Fly under the radar, etc.

  • I've tried 2 different credit cards on the Lazada site and they both keep saying the credit card number is wrong. Any ideas?

Ive put down a Singapore Address via the post code and the 1 as stated with my name

When I put in my credit card number i get a green tick along with my name expire data and Security Code - all green ticks, click place order and it comes back saying card is wrong. Tried a 28degress Mastercard and AMEX

Edit - Just tried my third credit card, a Visa and it came back saying Error Payment not completed

    • I used both master card and visa and all is fine…

    • Try a different business. Some businesses work others dont.

      • Cake shops seem to work well
Just a different floor or unit number for each "registration"

      • tried singapore bars, they all worked

        • will try

        • @Twisty:

I get the error not completed too. Let us know if it worked.

      • Tried singapore apartment blocks .. worked 3 times like a charm (diff unit numbers, same cc)

    • Fujitsu Singapore works perfect, created 11 accounts with their different departments adress.

get credits twice. 48 dollars . thanks op. 4 months free Netflix yahoo.
Use google to get random post code and phone numbers. Both time worked in the first go. cheers

  • -2

Would be funny if all the credit cards we used ended up being stolen and sold to underground networks. I think the deal is actually pretty fair. You get 50% off Netflix. That's just for 4 months right? Does it stack? How does it work? Do you have to manually apply the coupon or???

  • Is this for new accounts? Or can we use existing netflix account

    • +1

works for existing accounts as well

  • -3

Anyone got a code? Wouldnt mind some free netflicks

    • Can't you get one yourself? (not trying to be a smart arse)

      • +1

tried with my debit mastercard, no dice :(
        dont have a CC

  • Hmm, I noticed the coupons are linked to your account, so it is very possible for them to revert all the changes with an email from liveup.sg. I created a new Netflix account, claimed the coupon. Signed out, cleared browser history. When I used the coupon URL in my email, netflix had already assigned the coupon to my account as it had asked me to signin with the email address I used for the free coupon from liveup.

    • Nope, not true. You can sign in with any Netflix account.

      • You can apply the credit to any account, that is true.
However, I tried applying the coupon to a brand new account.
I then cleared my browser history.
Clicked on LiveSG link in my email, which then transferred me to Netflix with the LOGIN I just created pre-filled. e.g. Just asking for my password.
That is straight up proof each coupon is linked and they can see this data behind the scenes.

        • I don't think that constitutes as proof…

It just means they're pre-filling your email address on the Netflix login page. They're carrying it over from the account you created via LiveSG. It doesn't know that Netflix account exists, or that you just created it. You can change it to another email address, it has no bearing on the coupon whatsoever.

  • Does anyone know what happens if you cancel a netflix account that still has credit on it, e.g. if I were to cancel my netflix account that had $95 credit and then reactivate in 8 months time, would it still have the $95 credit?

    • +2

I asked support, they told me they can't pause promotional credit.

  • I wonder if it's worth keeping multiple accounts active, for the 4 months membership later on? 4 months for $28 is still very good value, and if it's applied the same way these 2 month credits are applied (which you would assume to be the case) then you could theoretically stack a few together (i.e. $56 for 8 months). This of course is assuming our accounts aren't cancelled in the first place.

  • I'm subscribed to Netflix via itunes, when I try to apply the gift, I get the error 'Sorry, but this promotion cannot be used with your current payment method.'

Netflix gift cards cannot be redeemed on an account that is billed through certain third party partners, such as iTunes. To redeem a Netflix gift card if your account is billed through such partners, you must first cancel your Netflix billing through the partner and then redeem your card at www.netflix.com/redeem once the billing period ends.

      • Thanks, yeah that's what I plan to do. Unfortunately my subscription just rolled over so will have to cancel and re-subscribe next month. I hope they don't cancel my liveup subscription before then!

  • +2

4 goes, 4 failed attempts, 4 bucks should have just signed up lol.

  • how many times is everyone doing this?

    • +2

4 times for main Netflix account.
      1 for testing
      2 for giveaway
4 backup for future use if they don't revoke it.

  • How come everyone else is showing up with $27.96 AUD credit and I only get SGD 19.38 ?
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/32827/49556/capture2.j…

    • 13.98 + 13.98…

      • So you are saying it doesn't show the full amount credited? That is why I can only see $13.98?

I am starting to think I should of made a Netflix account before I did this.

        • No. It shows correctly because its already deducted a month. There is enough credit there for 2 months.

        • @Shaw:

Ahhh ok, thanks now it makes sense

  • Just did 3 more, 4 total

  • finally got it to work well kinda as I go to do activate promo and get this message on netflix

Sorry, but this offer can’t be found. You may still sign up for a Netflix account without this offer, or return to the partner website and try again.

  • i only just like $24 credit because i was on the lower netflix plan!

    • I got $23.98 however my plan was the 4 screen ultra hd from my trial. then just until netflix increased their price i switched to 2 screen hd. now i only have 11.99 so will have to pay $2 to get continue 2 screen hd for next month @ $13.99 unless i go for 1 screen standard def.

  • +1

    i was getting this too.
got it to work by copying the "activate my netflix benefits" link to another browser.

(firefox was screwing up , copied the link to chrome and it worked)

    • +2

      the power of OzBargain!

  • It's a bit annoying that every time it says "Payment not completed", it still makes a ~ $1.10 pre-authorization card against the credit card provided. Either work and make the preauth charge, or fail and don't make the charge… but this keeps failing and making the preauth charge. p.s. I know it's just a preauth, and it should drop off in a week.

    • i've got about 15 preauths on my account from all the failures!

      • I've only got 6 or 7 preauths :-) I was using a reloadable Coles debit card, which only had a balance of $7.50 to start with, it worked fine the first 2 times, then failed every time after that, so $0.45 available balance left. Seems like there's a limit of 2 accounts per card?

Using a prepaid debit card as I'm always reluctant when signing up for a trial for a freebie to use my main credit card's details, would rather use a prepaid card backed by a very low balance, that way the downside is very very small, even if they bill when they shouldn't, or their site gets hacked and the card data is stolen.

        • You can go in and delete your payment method, then reuse the same card.

        • +1

          @SmiTTy:

So all this money they have charged my card I will get back right

        • +1

@Twisty: It's an authorisation charge so it should be put back in.
