Stokke Xplory Stroller $1199 @ David Jones Free P/H

130

Was browsing DJ's website and found this. Normal price is $1699 and this is the v4 model (v5 came out recently and is selling at $1699). Baby bunting sells it at $1699 showing v4 model pics.

After some more digging, it turns out the v5 model uses black colour wheels and all 4 wheels altogether makes the whole thing 1lb lighter than v4. 1lb vs extra $500, I think it is a good deal.

Not sure how many v4s are still around they are available online with free shipping.

I know it's not something you buy everyday but a bargain is a bargain.

  • Not sure if jv can fit in that stroller? Might spit the dummy?

I'll have to remind one of the handmaidens tomorrow to pick up a batch of these on the way back from getting the Porsche Cayenne dropped in for its service.

    • Don't the Porsche Master Technicians come to you?

      • Well, I need some feta and smashed avocado toasts as well. Just as easy to send one of the servants…

  • I don't see the appeal of those tiny wheels considering the sidewalks that are around Sydney.

I don't know how people justify spending this much for some cloth strapped to plastic wheels.
You'd hope it has at least a carbon fibre chassis, electric motor and titanium frame with the latest in Elon Musk driverless technology for navigating the stroller-laden streets of Disneyland.

  • Yes, price is high but they are great, highly manoeuvrable and the height makes it perfect for sitting down at the cafe.

Prams/babies should NOT be taken to cafes. If I see a cafe or restaurant with prams, I take my business elsewhere. Especially the stupidly oversized prams you see these days.

Why are people negging this? Prams should not be taken in to cafes/restaurants. People go there to eat in a relaxing environment. They don't want the hassle of trying to avoid your stupid pram and the baby inside. Take your baby elsewhere.

    • To be honest this is only useful when a cafe is extremely spacious, I have personally seen a waiter nearly tripped over the wheels of this pram and now some cafes require you to store your pram elsewhere regardless of whether it is a 'perfect height'. Well I prefer packed and crowded popular cafes so this will never suit. If you like the maneuverability that's great but the height thing is not that important if cafes don't allow it.

    • Wow, a few anti-babies on OzB.

Open your eyes, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants which are baby friendly and have heaps of space.

  • Or throw ur baby into a shopping trolley…

    • My bad, this has a v4 engine.

    • Throwing a baby is dangerous and possibly illegal.

  • My house cost (almost) less than this product, and it's within 11 km of Melbourne CBD.

    Just… WOW.

  • In typical David Jones online fashion it DOES NOT apply discount in Shopping Bag!

The only advice I give to new parents to be is "don't go cheap on your pram" I was hesitant when I bought my kid one for just over $1k. Single handedly the best investment ever. We thought ahead too, and bough one that could be turned into a double pram. It's almost two years now and still going strong (with two kids also). I still be using this pram when we have our third kid next year. All up would have paid 1200 for the pram for a 5 year+ investment.

I carried my baby for six months in a carrier and switched to a $100 el-cheapo stroller after that. They grew up to be just fine, without any mental or physical issues. These fancy prams are for snobs who eat smashed avo on toast and drink latte art coffee on a daily basis.
Stop wasting money on fancy stuff and save up for down payment of your first home and stop complaining about house prices getting out of reach. Hippies!

Bwahaha… love the smashed avo comment! :D

I bought a $300 pram that had clip in parts and converted. It lasted through all my kids, gave it to my cousin, lasted her kids, she gave it away and it lasted another two kids after that. For all I know, it's still going. These Xplory are just the pram version of a pissing competition…

  • I forgot i was preaching to the wrong crowd, back to my smashed avo i go.
