Firstly credit to poster RewardBucks for his previous post of free comics on the Amazon US site than can be read through Kindle.

His post was more geared towards superheroes and when going through all the comics available noticed quite a few more that might be of interest to readers especially of an apocalyptic/sci-fi/horror bent.

  • These are mostly free promo comics - ie they're free all the time.

BTW the Transformers All Hail Megatron's page count is issues 1-6. This is labelled #1 not Vol 1 so I suspect it's either the 20 page first issue or a mislabeled Vol 1 in which case it's a bargain.

    • The description for Transformers says:

      Length: 152 pages
Book 1 of 16 in Transformers: All Hail Megatron (Issues) (16 Book Series)

      • I know what the description is and it makes no sense. Issue #1 is 22 pages. Vol 1 which contains issues 1-6 (of 16 issues) is 152 pages.

so one or the other is wrong. I don't care enough to actually bother downloading it though, just giving people a heads up before they're disappointed.

        • +1

OK downloaded and checked… there are 25 "locations" (meaning pages) so your hunch was correct. Although I'm gonna try and send Amazon a "wtf" about that description, LOL.

  • Looks like free on AU as well.

Just out of curiosity why do we still post US links to Amazon by default? Isn't AU easier or just as easy plus we actually live here so why do people still shop the US store where you don't really know the cost till your card is charged (exchange rate)?

For the free stuff OK moot point I get it I guess but for paid stuff I prefer to use the store designed for use by Australians to see the actual AUD cost.

Just a genuine question as for the people who don't supply AU links I'm always having to muck around instead of just 1-clicking.

    • I do it because Amazon lets you have one or the other (or they used to). As I had originally imported a Kindle, there was no AU store and I started using the US store. I don't want to be constantly changing accounts to read stuff.

    • I bought my Kindle long before AU store was available. I still maintain and use my US account as I buy heaps of non-Kindle items from the US store. I may re-evaluate when Amazon launches their full store here.

  • So I downloaded the free Transformers comic, and not long after I receive this email:

    • Nice! I bough Old Man Logan recently for USD$2.99, and got that same email. I then downloaded a free comic with 200+ pages. I'll pick up the Transformers one so that I can get another!

    • Now THAT is worth downloading a free comic. 'Graphic novel' = Trade paerback of 5-6 issues.

  • I have an Amazon US account and used to buy (paid and free) kindle books via amazon.com. Now I'm getting a message asking me to change the country because "You attempted to purchase an item while in a different country than listed on your Amazon account.". Anyone else having similar issues?

  • I downloaded the Transformers one but it's only 25 pages so edited that. I also got the free graphic novel email offer so downloaded the Punisher Max Collection which is 389 pages, not bad for free!

    • Fantastic comic that one. I got it as well for my freebie. Garth Ennis was at his peak back then.

      • I can't wait to read it.
