Guys i need help.
My garage key was broken in half. And the remaining of the key is still inside the lock. I need a needle or anything small to pick the key
Do you know how to take the key and where to buy the tool (if needed)?

Another, faster and more expensive method - break the door down. Remove and replace the lock, fix the door frame. Not something you'd probably want to do but I bet it would be a lot of fun kicking a door in!
Unless you injure your foot/ankle in the process.
Paper clip? Vacuum cleaner? Blue tac (or something similar that won't get stuck in there)? Rubber mallet to try and hit it out from the other side if it is not jammed? Combined of the above?
I'd recommend putting some WD40 down into the lock to loosen things up a bit.
Then anything Halo375's suggestions seem feasible.

not WD40. it's oily/wet. dust will stick to it. and gum up the works. graphite powder for locks.
My locksmith said he's seen many locks where people spray so much graphite powder into it that it cakes up inside which ends up hindering proper operation.
So just a bit of graphite powder for locks. :)
That said, if you have nothing else on hand, a little bit of WD40 will be better than a sticky lock.
keep shoving anything into the hole. As much as will fit. eventually the lock will give up and spit it out
Someone down voted. I like this idea, it works well with kids.
spray the key hole with the WD40 or Lock spray
then dip the end of paper clip with drop of super glue.
if lock is in locked position then it might not work. soz good luck
The first step is taking responsibility.
My papa broke it, and I have to fix it DUH
Try using your lips to suck it back out, make sure you don't swallow any of it.
You know that's not what he said…
c: wondered if he's called the locksmith yet
Try using a plier
Neodymium Rare Earth Magnet
Most keys are non-magnetic.
<… checks all keys with earth magnet>
correct you are! I guess to prevent rusting?
They're usually made of brass; it won't rust, and is easy to cut grooves into.
@eug: Often aluminium nowdays, it's cheaper than brass.
@pjetson: I've only seen aluminium duplicates. All the keys I've seen that come with locks are still brass. I wonder why.
@pjetson: If you mean the common colourful anondised Ultralite Keys they are actually titanium alloy
I used a pair of tweezers when it happened, depends how much key is left in though
Drill in keyhole with small drill, keep increasing drill diameter size till lock opens. Replace barrel

Suck. Suck like you've never sucked before.
You can unscrew it from the back can you access the garage thru the window or roof
I would have thought that most garages would have two doors, one for the car and one standard door. But maybe the car is in the garage blocking access to the back of the lock.
Many many years ago, I forgot that I had left the key in the garage door of one of my properties. It was a roller door. I lifted it up and heard a loud noise and half the key fall to the ground - the wooden frame sheared the key in half.
Here's what I did:
Tweezers? Vacuum cleaner? Magnet?
Time to move. www.realestate.com.au is now your friend.
Op doesn't want to move from thomastown
where do you get that information about which area I'm in ?
Find a pair of pliers and if you can grip the key and turn it might just unlock it ! If not just take apart the lock if you can. Any updates?
