  • Thank you.

  • Pardon my ignorance but how is this better than some of the free/very cheap VPN services?

Just asking for my own knowledge.

    • -1

      It's more expensive.
There's plenty of better options, you should check out Vpnsecure.me I got a lifetime subscription awhile back, been very pleased.

      • Do you even stream? 👀

    • It actually protects your privacy rather than claiming to whilst not protecting it.

      And it's faster.

  • Spewing I bought this service last ozb post, speeds stink.

I tried to cancel, apparently u can before 1 week.

They sent me some bs saying with this offer blah blah I am unable to.

IMHO don't waste your money, I get roughly 4mb on average which is painful for normal browsing (optus cable). Yes I tried many servers with the same result

    • It's actually fairly decent on my NBN - comparable to Torguard (if not beteer) plus a SOCKS5 Proxy included.

      • Most people don't have nbn

    • YMMV as I'm currently getting 101/2 on the VPN (AU Sydney) vs 112/2 (100/2 Telstra cable without VPN) on speedtest.net

I'd expect it to be a bit slower than that at night during peak traffic but not nearly as bad as your connection.

You should probably check your IP. For the last three weeks PIA Australian Servers (Melbourne and Sydney) have been coming up as New Jersey. There have also been multiple threads started in their forums about DNS leaks and their support staff are not responding.

My subscription with them ends mid June and I will be moving to VyperVPN. I did a 3 day trial and withouth VPN activated I was getting 93mb/s with PIA connected to Singapore I get 24 mb/s. Using Vyper Australian VPN I get 73 mb/s which is also 2 times faster than any of the Australian servers from PIA when they were working.

        • there is a few deals for VyperVPN right now too, one for 50% off first month or 25% off the annual plan, prob sign up start of next month not sure if should go for the standard or premium plan though.

    • Actually their speeds are the best I've had compared to other vpns. Recently signed up to PureVPN and it's been pretty bad.

The Aussie servers on PIA are good.

      I'm on TPG FTTB 100/40.

      • Yeah it fluctuates a little. My FTTP NBN 100/40 connected to melb

It does appear that the AU servers are blocking some RSS feeds though.

Used in japan, via their jp servers (auto settings, sometimes connecting to usa servers). Quite disappointed with connection consistency and speed.
