    All the benefits of Cast Iron but about half the weight and easier to work with. I have the 30cm Skillet and it's great. Preseasoning was adequate but a few layers of my own and it is as non-stick as any new teflon pan.

    These look to be older stock and not the new re-launched Stain finished range. Still great pans but a little more difficult to season.

      note that the Formed Iron items are the original smooth AUS-ION and not the new Satin Formed Iron with a Shot Peened/Blasted surface finish:

      What is the difference between the old smooth AUS-ION and new AUS-ION Satin?

  I held the 30cm Skillet at David Jones today and the handle was not the most comfortable. However it is definitely lighter than a cast iron pan. Can't really go wrong at this price, especially for something that will last a lifetime. Good searing capabilities, no Teflon coatings and single piece construction are biggest advantages for me.

    yeah the novelty / innovation is that it's one piece ….. but the handle isn't as strong (easy to bend) as a normal french steel pan with a riveted handle….. there are lots of steel pans that aren't cast iron.

    at rrp it's a bit expensive but at 36% off it's more relaistic ….. yes i own one but it's not my go to pan .

      Mine arrived today, it also comes packed in a sack with laces, nice done.

      Its the satin finished one.

      NOT A HOPE IN HELL, have you a chance to bend the handle, i tried really hard would not flex one bit, its tank like.

      Well done to the manufacture, nice bit of kit.

      The Aus Ion pans i have are perfection. No warpage and I have used them under very high heat. I believe they're 3mm thick and heavy. Personally I don't think you can go wrong.

      Nothing will warp a pan like throwing it in the fire till red hot so that’s what I did, haha, and it came out on top. No signs of any warping or fatigue at all

  Still waiting on the wok, here in inner-city Melbourne. Mate in Geelong got the 26cm skillet a couple of days ago.
