    • Not here in WA it seems? I asked the sales lady who was putting through my contract and she said I was the second person that came in with a F&F code in the past 2 days (~1 person a day).
      This is at an outlet situated on Murray St, pretty much heart of Perth city. I’m guessing most ozbargainers would’ve just applied online.

    I just went though some of the referrals and noticed that some of you have some really "unique" first names. I was wondering how people managed to circumvent the requirements for official IDs on signup. Either someone's legal first name really is "Mr" or Optus are just slack.

    Finally got a confirmation. Yet to get the phone, but finally an email after many many days.

    Ended up odering a Samsung S8 on $65 plan (7GB internet) + $10 handset for a discounted price of $58.70/mo (confirmed phone to own).

    • How many days did you have to wait. i got an email but it gave a temporary order number.

  • I've noticed on the Optus site that for $40 on a 24 month sim only plan you get 12gb of data per month.

    However on the 24 month plan for $40 with a phone (additional) you only get 1gb of data per month.

    Anyone know how to get a similar amount of data on a 24 month plan without paying more with plan and phone?

    • Don't think so,just calculate the total cost see which one is more suitable?(plan with phone/byo plans)

    when do you get your bonus pooled data?

    i signed up for the $65 plan 3.5gb + bonus pooled 3.5gb, but my optus only shows 3.5gb. Surely I'll get the bonus data from the beginning?

      • I guess it's a special deal optus has running right now. I didn't check sim only but the $65 3.5gb plan + S8 has a 3.5gb bonus pooled data included when i signed up last week with a referral code.

          it's perhaps only if you got a s8+3.5gb phone plan, would you be entitled to the bonus 3.5gb.

          someone else who got the HTC + 3.5gb plan didn't get the bonus data i hear.

          I got SMSs instantly but the postpaid plan didn't show up in my My Optus app until 24 hours later.

          Edit: still yet to receive an email.

          Received my first e-mail the same day as ordering. The e-mail was an order confirmation e-mail.

          Also, for anyone wondering about the referral code SMS … My mate used my referral code on the 4th June and I received the SMS notifying me that it had been used today (11 days after he used the code).

          I signed up on Tuesday at HN but the code still hasn't shown as used and I haven't received any emails at all but The My Optus app shows I'm on the new postpaid plan.

          A bit worried that the code will be used by someone else before it gets applied to my account.

          Went in to HN to pick up my phone today as it was on back order and asked them about it and they said it was up to Optus now.

          Also went to the Optus store and they said it had to be put in on the first page of the online application which it was. They said 1-2 business days for it to be applied after that so still hoping.

  • Question about wiki etiquette:
    If your original referral code is exhausted before it gets near the top, because you've signed up family and friends, is it okay to replace it with a new code? Or does it have to go to the bottom and you remove the one you had in line?
    On one hand, you've got $150 in referrals already, so that's awesome. But on the other hand those referrals had nothing to do with the wiki and you've had a spot in line the whole time without it getting used.
    What do we all reckon? More importantly, what do the mods reckon?

      I think it should go to the bottom.

    • I don't think that's fair either. If you have the means to get 3 family members or friends to sign up then why even add the referral code to the wiki page in the first place? If you want to add another code, add it to the bottom otherwise those of us that have been waiting for our codes to make it to the top won't ever get a chance.

    • The right thing to do should be to put it at the bottom however we haven't been removing those who have been doing that which are not many.

    Are the referrals in the wiki still being checked for greedy (profanity)? Clearly some people still aren't adhering to the rules. They are sly enough not post their links right at the top.

    Is anyone else in the situation where they've applied in store for the 25% off discount and are yet to receive an SMS confirmation?

    The code I used is now showing 3 uses and I haven't received an SMS. Did my application on the 13th and pretty sure Optus hasn't applied the code to my new service.

    I've spoken to reps in sales, billing, and sales support none of which could help and have given me other numbers to call.

    Also asked where I signed up they said it was up to Optus. Went to the Optus store and they said it had to be in the first page of the application which it was.

    Probably Optus is swamped with new orders and have not processed the backend of my application yet.

    Anyone here have any suggestions or experience with this issue?

    • So the other number I was given was Optus Care for Me which I called today and the first thing that happens is it asks you for your staff ID lol

Wondering if I can view my contract once I get a login? Tried signing up but it says my email has already been used despite me not receiving anything.

    works for 12 month contracts as well unlimited talk text 12gb of data 30 per month for 12 months isnt bad

    Today I picked up a brand new S8 with the 25% discount plus I keep my old phone number. I have been with optus for ages.
    $65 plan and $10 device. total discounted price is $58.75 and 7.0 GB. 2years contract.
