Where have those deals gone? I haven't seen one for ages.
I think Costco does it sometimes. It used to be Dick Smith doing it quite regularly but now that they're gone, it's not as common to see it.
Do you need a charger?
Family pack is ok value.
My preferred source is now Ikea Ladda(rebadged from the Japanese eneloop factory)

Bear in mind that's not a smart charger which may affect how you'll use it

If you're just after the batteries, a good deal is usually 8 AA/AAA for $15-$20
