WAHL KM2 Professional Animal Clipper with Bonus - $196 Delivered

90

We borrowed our friends Wahl KM2 clipper and it's brilliant. My local shaver shop gave me a price of $300.

This is the cheapest price I could find and thought I'd post it in case anyone else was chasing one.

It comes with

-cleaning brush
-oil
-carry box
-12 month warranty

and a bonus of

-Wahl Dog Paw grooming bag
-nail clipper/grinder

I ordered one and you don't give any payment details - they say you will contact you later. There's a mobile number listed for the manager and I rang it earlier in the week as I was going to buy it then. He said to hold off as he said the bonus will be included this weekend.

Will let you know what happens with payment.

EDIT: as mentioned below, you can also make a phone order and might be easier anyway.

  • So what are the advantages of this over $20 human hair clippers/beard trimmers?

    • WAHL clippers glide through animal fur like butter. With human or even cheaper animal clippers you're sitting there pulling jammed hair out of the combs constantly. Speaking from experience, WAHL is the only way to go

    • As Cobalt said, human hair clippers just won't cut dog hair, even the fine haired breeds; not sure about cats though, although I'd suspect the same result! ;)

  • Never tried WAHL but it is well known with pet grooming. i have tried human hair clippers of different types, brands, cost, and they are no good for pet fur.

I might get this. cbb researching so i do hope it is the cheapest around.

  • Any one know where you can get cheaper guides for this trimmer?

finally, something decent I can buy for shaving my girlfriend's back every fortnight.

    • Words fail me! :o

  • bought these last month from this seller. payment over the phone was easy, delivery the next day. much cheaper than elsewhere and definitely worth it. much better than the cheapies i had previously.

    • Thanks…have updated the description

As others have said, Wahl certainly are a quality brand when it comes to pet clippers. I'm not sure what these would go for at your local pet store but I wouldn't be surprised if it were over $300. I was chatting to someone who has a few dogs and couldn't recommend Wahl highly enough. Can't remember if he said it was a German or USA brand but either way said they are the only ones to buy.

+1, don't need these personally (no pets anymore) but always great to see variety on OZB!

Wahl are actually a quality brand for human clippers too; I've got a lot of friends & family that are hairdressers, they all use Wahl in their salons! ;)

    • Like Click_It said, Wahl makes professional clippers not only for animals, but for humans as well. And Wahl is not the only professional clipper range out there, you have other well known brands too, such as Andis, Oster, etc. The blades from these different brands are often interchangeable (I have an Oster blade on an Andis clipper).

RandomNinja, you just cannot trim pet hair with human clippers. The hair will often get tangled up in the blades and it would probably damage the motor on your trimmer. The blades and motor for human clippers are not made for pet hair.

This is a good deal and you only pay about $40-$50 extra than if you were to import it from the USA. However IMHO, professional clippers are generally overpriced in Australia. For higher end models, it may be worth while to consider getting them from distributors in the US (need ensure that it runs on 220-240V) for bigger savings if warranty is not a big issue for you. For example, the one I have is selling for $315 from clippersharpening, but I got it for a bit under $200 shipped. It's still running perfectly after 3 years + of frequent use on my cats. They love their lion cut. :)

If you have long-haired breed, I'd recommend getting one as an investment.

  • Thanks for all the info, we have just got a little spoodle puppy and I was having a bit of a look at these. Looks like more money spent (or saved) thanks to ozbargain! On the site it also mentions in a box down the bottom a set of stainless steel guide combs for $37.50 http://www.clippersharpening.com.au/product-Accessories/wahl… Would I need these as well?

    • You get a #10 blade included but the combs are for making sure the height of the fur is at a constant height depending on which comb you choose…similar to human clippers.

  • Anyone know where I can pick up cheap metal guides for this? Preferably 1". Don't mind local or international as long as shipping is reasonable.
