  • So which one will be a better choice? The Kogan 55" 4K or this one?

    • How does warranty work with Kogan? I would assume that you could walk back into a JB Hifi store and speak to someone if there is an issue.

      • Kogan got 1 year warranty, this one says 3 years. Seems pretty good.
Just realized that kogan's got curved panel.

Hard to make the decision now… :(

        • depends if you really want a curve TV, for 55" it isnt that great.

  • +2

Both have terrible Hertz and refresh rates

    • +1

      What are the refresh rates?

I mainly watch free to air, will this be a big deal?

      • If you're only watching free to air you don't even need a FullHD TV set.

        • Why not? Some channels are broadcast in 1080i.

      • Normal TV its fine but i would spend a little extra and get a brand name TV thats me personally

  • +1

My 2-year-old 42" LED Soniq TV keeps losing all memory (date, setting, free-to-air channels) - Just coincident with the warranty expiration?

  • In the same email, Sony 8500D 75" at $3698 not as cheap as the previous $3398.30 from Bing Lee

    • This was recently updated to Marshmallow and the experience is heaps better, I have the 55 and i can recommend it now !

  • What is this AGL offer? and how do we go about redeeming the same. Could not find any details regarding AGL on the listing/website.

  • 4.4.4 Android operating system

The smarts on this are very dated, and probably insecure.
Better to get an external box, and never connect this to your LAN or internet. HDMI only.

  • Would this be like watching videos on a big Etch-A-Sketch? ie; questionable quality?

    • +2

      More like questionable lifespan
Pray you don't have a dead Tv outside of the warranty period

Hisense has 3 year warranties and are more expensive than Soniq, but still affordable compared to Samsung or Lg.

This Soniq is basically JB Hifi's in house brand, produced by God knows what manufacturer and even their own salespeople dissuaded me from buying it.

  • How would this go for Gaming & watching sports?
Need a decent 4K tv for $1400 under with HDR 10.

  • Guess no good.

    • yes no good
