Meh always found popcorn chicken a rip off. But each to their own

    • +7

Its ridiculously expensive too purchase wholesale, unlike nuggets which are cheaper.

      • +2

Can i buy some to do at home :P?

        • +13

if your sleep with the manager you can get some bag for home.

        • @nikey2k27: you might need an ear plug, guess they're super tired when compare to Macca or HJ

        • +8

@nikey2k27: Back in the day I had to give my manager a rusty trumbone for bulk supercharge sauce.

        • Worth it.

        • Give em a gobby under the counter!

      • +1

Doesn't make it a bargain (or even a good deal) for the customer though does it?

        • +14

It does when what you are getting is just pure breast chicken.

        • -7

          @oscinator1988:

I'd rather buy pieces of chicken breast. Some stores use to sell them for $3 each. I don't know if that's still the case. But I'd rather buy 3 chicken breasts than a mini bucket of this.

        • +2

          @syousef:
You can get the fillets they use in burgers for about ~4$ each.

or two fillets + reg drink chips and small gravy for $10.25

        • +2

          @oscinator1988:

I can't work out what your point is.

Neither the nuggets nor the 'popcorn' are comprised of 100% chicken breast, due to all the stuff on the outside etc.

          Then there's this:

          https://www.kfc.com.au/menu/chicken/kentucky-nuggets-10-piec…

Of course 'made with' could mean just about anything, but it doesn't make your position any clearer!

Personally I do what 'syousef' does, and buy my own pure chicken meat/cook it, but I do realise this is essentially irrelevant/unrelated to the 'fast-food' industry.

        • +4

@GnarlyKnuckles: Oh FFS clearly he means the chicken quality is better lol

      • +15

Can't compare to Nuggets. The Popcorn chicken is real meat and tastes way better.. not processed skin, bones and guts in nuggets (My dad use to work in the processing plant that makes them).

        • +3

Exactly this! Nuggets have filler, whilst the pocporn is 100% meant nothing else besides somes flavoring.

        • -8

          @oscinator1988:

'… whilst the pocporn is 100% meant nothing else besides somes flavoring'

Erm… there's no way to know what this is supposed to mean, even after assuming that 'pocporn' was simply an extremely unfortunate 'typo'.

        • +7

@GnarlyKnuckles: the popcorn is 100% meat, nothing else besides some flavouring

        • @oscinator1988: I didn't know the Nuggest had filler in them! So they are chicken breast and filler put together and shaped?

        • @TRENT86: Take a chicken, take off the feathers, head, and legs. Put in grinder. Disinfect until it tastes like nothing, add chicken flavour.

        • @TRENT86: Have you bitten into a nugget? Notice it looks nothing like biting into a breast chicken, its all white and smooth. Now bite into popcorn, does this look different?

        • @oscinator1988: i didn't realise this, years ago KFC prided themselves on it being 100% breat meat

        • @Jackson: It is 100% breast meant in the chicken. I think… ##I couuld easily be wrong!

All Im saying is the price per weight of popcorn is far more expnsive than the price per weight of nuggets.

        • +1

Exactly right, may as well ignore every other useless comment in this thread and just read yours.

Got a friend currently working in the processing plant also and it's exactly as you say.

It feels great to just obliterate all those 'speculative' comments, they need to all be erased along with with things like facebook and twitter :)

    • Yeah they cost too much for me.

    • BUT ITS SO DELICIOUS

Last time I got $5 cup it had 4 tiny chicken pieces hidden with a cup full of chips

    • +12

Last time I got a $3.5 snack pack, it had a tiny piece of chicken and 8 pieces of chips, went back to the girl that served me and asked why so little, she fixed it up, brought the pack back to me with two extra pieces of chips, at KFC, they count everything.

Nice, I usually opt for other sides but can't pass up a bucket of these bad boys for a tall tenner

  • -2

A bucket is something you puke into, not eat from.

    • +39

      y not both?? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      • +10

Fine, as long as it's done in the appropriate order.

Now I know what I'm taking into the theatres!

Dandenong Plaza, KFC is conveniently straight in front of Reading! :DD

  • Says that it starts 5/5 for WA. Has anyone been able to purchase this? Haven't seen any advertising and the Xpress app doesn't show it as an option

    • I think it's a typo. It's meant to say 15/5, which is the Monday.

      • Ah makes sense thanks. 2 more days!

    • I think it meant to be 15th as 5th was not a Monday

      • Thanks. Will buy on Monday.

    • EDIT: Beaten.

  • -7

    Misleading offer

    • +3

      y tho?

      • +1

cause its not normal kfc bucket size

    • +9

      Contains zero popcorn?

      • I hope it's really chicken lol

    • +1

      @Tuzzi

Not sure why you are getting negs as I reckon you're right.

It says a "Bucket of popcorn chicken from KFC". The first thing that comes to mind is the KFC bucket of chicken available, and this offer certainly isn't anywhere near that size.

If they described the offer accurately as "Two maxi popcorns for $10", it wouldn't sound anywhere near as appealing.

It IS misleading, but still a deal considering how bloody expensive these things are normally. The fattest things on the menu by far as well!

      • people love kfc too much, and im sure theres enough KFC staff on here to neg comments

  • +3

This is a great deal but I have an alternate suggestion. Visit an authentic Taiwanese restaurant and get their popcorn chicken instead. They're pretty good if done properly.

    • +2

Different Taste. Although I like the tw yansu chicken, KFC popcorn chicken are really good as snacks. If only they aren't so expensive

      • Yeah you're right different taste. I have a better idea, why not both? =D

    • It is so much better, but you will not get a bucket for $10.

  • +1

    very nice!

  • +4

    It's a buckette…

  • -5

    Crap in a bucket

  • +24

Literally the most unhealthy thing per unit of weight that KFC sell.

20.5g of fat per 100g, 700mg sodium (highest on the list).

A $10 bucket is going to be around 90-100g of fat alone. That's like eating 9-10 pieces of their already fatty fried chicken.

    https://www.kfc.com.au/media/1055198/kfc-nutrition-informati…

    Australia is fat as fuuuuuuKFC

      Prepare to be disappointed.

      • +3

I purchased this lunch pack the other day.. it was gross! And the dude at the counter told me they ran out of the mini soft drink cans.. so he was going to put the soft drink in a small cup for me. So I said okay.. thats fine.. until I realised they were actually measuring the amounts of softdrink to go into the small cup.. wth. I ended up with only half a small cup of soft drink… Like seriously.. u run out of cans and yet you still won't give me a full cup of soft drink…wth..

  • +4

Damn.. I was thinking it was the 21 piece bucket.. for 10 bucks.. like "OMG".. haha

    • +5

You might find 21 piece of popcorn chicken….if you are lucky….

      • +1

It should be minimum 80 piece of popcorn

        • What's the best value item on the menu currently?

        • @AlienC:
This. Then grilled taster box's. Double tender combo'.

        • @oscinator1988:

          1. Which is the grilled taster boxes via Xpress app called?

          2. Is there a difference between the double tender burg/double crunch burg. Which one you werre referring?

  • -4

For 10 Dollars I can get 1.43 kg of Chicken Breast at my local Lennards (South-East QLD). So you know exactly what is in it.

    • You missed rainbow meats, 10 bucks would have got you 2kg!!

      • +3

Mmmm yeah well you both missed buying fertilized eggs for fifteen bucks per dozen and growing the chicken yourself! Two bucks per kilo! Your choice of breasts, drumsticks, Maryland, wings….!

        • +2

Guess you all missed, marry a farmer (from the west) you got everything…

        • Just get some eggs from the supermarket and fertilize them yourself.

  • If you want to gain weight fast OP has given everyone the perfect blueprint to do so.

I want to love popcorn chicken, but actually find the taste to be very tiring..

When it was first released they did a run of salt and vinegar popcorn chicken… Now that was worth my dosh.
