their main fb post, and t&c stating that you need "@CEAirOceania & @HuaweimobileAU and using #capturemyjourney" (as you mentioned in the original post also) then when i found out that entering via fb is an app that uses the same page as the campaign page.. (originally I thought FB entry would be posting it to your profile then tagging.)
I have loyal social media friends who have helped me get my entry to the top (for now) but if they are strict on the tags (even though as a backup i used the tags in a share post on social media) then all those votes go to waste.
I uploaded a new one the other day with tags, and have got a good number of votes from friends (nothing like the one my original picture gained) so i guess we will see how it plays out.Also.. not a fan of "taxes and fee's excluded" being mentioned .. if the airline is making you pay those fees, they can add up for a trip to Europe (still cheaper than buying a ticket but still)
couple more days left.. might send out another couple of SM posts and see if i can't get a few more votes over the days and see how it plays out either way.
Just received a reply from CEA - apparently (and unfortunately) the tags are needed. Yet another case of poorly written T&Cs…hate it. As you say there's still a bit of time so keep trying I think - you never know, they might just change the term considering majority of people didn't tag and it wasn't explicitly stated. Fingers crossed!
Lucky for me i got a nice bump of votes on my 2nd entry (with tags) during the day so could end up on top of the ones with tags .. a lot of my friends/followers voted for the 1st upload, so many are not coming back second time (or cant because I believe it is 1 vote per person) so not holding my breath it will stay in lead. (worst thing is many are still voting on my first (invalid) one so it is way in the lead haha
Can not see them changing the rules.. the rules also state must have been taken on phone, so many taken by professional cameras (some state that in their description, others it is plain obvious) mind you mine look pro camera quality, that were taken with my s6 (would have blown it out the water if i could have used the ones I took with my sony a6000 and if the comp was based on photo quality) so yeah if they change 1 rule they would have to change them all.

yeah my 2nd entry only went up 2 days ago and is close to 80 votes already (i hope it is mine they are referring to lol I have not looked at the others recently.. the 1 who was in the lead i think only had 38 votes, that was yesterday) again thanks
just did a dummy booking on their site .. to find taxes and fees (which are apparently excluded) would come well over $700/ticket .. ouch

i checked all entries with the hashtags several minutes before the 9am cut off, and mine was over 100, the next most votes was 38, then 22 and down from there (the winner was not even in the top 3 and could not have got over 100 votes in a minute)no way..have you questioned it with them?
i send them a message via facebook which they have seen and not yet replied to.
I know for a fact i looked at that one (when looking at all with tags) and it did not have many votes at all (again the next most votes was 38) .. looking forward to hearing what they have to say in return .. i do not mind losing fairly .. all part of comping, but when i spent a lot of time getting the comp out there for votes on social media and gained as many as i did, i can not turn a blind eye"Your entry did very well! CEA team."what a load of s….. 1st off my 1st entry (which was invalid) was over 200, and my 2nd (valid) over 100, now they are saying this 1 was over 200? yeah right? oh well take the loss and will make sure everyone knows to stay clear of CE
You hit the nail on the head with "fair". One of the things that disturb me most is promoters who stuff up (along with cheating and copycats - if you're gonna do something at least put in the effort and make it your own, otherwise don't). There's a minute chance that the person was reserving all his/her votes till the last (so other entrants think they have the lead) but yeah, either way I'd be super disappointed after all the effort. Really sorry for what happened..

yeah me too.. i will get over it .. i can not see how in 1 minute he would have gained over 200 votes (let alone 100) which is why i believe the comp was either rigged or unfairly drawn.. it took me a lot to even get the 100 votes for the 2nd entry lol
I noticed they removed the "likes" from the picture before uploading it too.
gah loljust noticed someone else on their FB page say in the comments that they saw the winning liked picture and that it was not the one that chosen (they described mine) .. i hope that it is an innocent mistake and is corrected … not holding my breath

they never replied to my last PM but replied to the other person who i mentioned above with "Hi, we've used a campaign management programme and have been checking up on the number of likes and shares for all posts to ensure that it is fair for all. At the end of the campaign period, this is the top post with the most number of likes. We hope you understand."
