    iPhone NOT included

Dam. I really thought it would of been.

  • Insurance is optional, uncheck the box if you don't want insurance

How about you change it to check the box if you want insurance instead?

Why should it be preselected if it's optional?

    • Because a lot of people accidentally do it, same with most airlines when you book tickets.

Consumers are perfectly capable of deciding for themselves whether they want to pay for additional products or services. They do not need companies to make unsolicited purchasing decisions for them.

Given the amount of stupid people that don't have house, contents, car, travel or even health insurance I would dispute that statement.

GoFundMe seems to be their idea of insurance after the fact.

        • @Maverick-au:
I would certainly dispute your statement that anyone who does not have health insurance (Australians are covered to some extent already without high out of pocket expenses) and other insurance is stupid.

You endorse a further 'nanny state' approach where people automatically opt in for insurance?? (Many insurance policies already can't be opted out of.)

Many smart people weigh the risks / benefits & economics of insurance (gambling) & don't see any valid reason for them. The public are increasingly deciding not to insure for additional health benefits.

Choice was discussing the unnecessary automatic inclusion of airline insurance cost (& other charges) at time of booking - when those who insured for their travel are already covered or it's a very limited cover at best.

It could be said it was mainly the stupid or gullible who agreed to the pre-ticked additional costs. In Choice's study, pre-selected optional extras adding 40% to a return fare from Sydney to the Gold Coast.

Good for you, but anyone who works who doesn't have health insurance is stupid. The waiting list for many procedures is years.

          No I don't.

What utter rubbish, unless you have the cash on hand to cover any event that can be insured for you're an idiot for not being insured. You see people on the news everyweek who have lost all their possessions in a house fire who are not insured and if course they also gambled and had no smoke detectors.

Not to mention those that don't have contents insurance when renting and have no public liability cover.

It's not a matter of stupidity at all. I could just as easily make up examples of people who have paid for insurance and never used it. You seem to be very risk averse, whereas others accept risk. I could also call you stupid for not wearing a bullet-proof vest every day. Not really helpful, is it?

        • @Maverick-au:
It is the extreme minority of the population with barely enough funds to pay for necessities, that become fodder for the ratings hungry current affairs shows.

(It is almost not surprising when they endure tragedies. They are bumping along the bottom. That's why they bring in the money for the advertisers - they're relatable to their demographic.)

While by definition appearing on those shows - shows they aren't in the top percentiles of the intelligence scores, it is not usually a lack of intelligence why they chose not to insure - they can't afford it. And that's where you gather your data to back your ludicrous claims!

My very rich clients taught me their disdain for often useless insurance policies. (The insurance companies make their money from the majority of policies where no claim is made.) Those clients sought my advice & I learnt from them. Like them, I invest in my health rather than in businesses making a profit as go-betweens between those potentially requiring health care some time in the future & heath providers. I've never been admitted to hospital, but have funds to access if necessary. In critical care, most are treated in public hospitals anyway, despite private cover.

Having a good laugh at least in my beach house in Japan. (Have only worked a few days in decades - just travelling overseas. Doing quite ok with no insurance - except where it is mandated.)

How do you know Maverick-au doesn't wear a bullet-proof vest every day. Seems impervious to any ideas not shown on current affairs TV ;-)

Life is risky - insurance buys the illusion of safety.

I have read Maverick-au's ideas in the past & hide the comments. Just was a bit bored as it got rainy by the beach in Japan & read them for a laugh today. It's about my only access to English language in my small village. Won't read again.

        • @Infidel:

LOL. What kind of an act are you putting on? You've engaged in commentary for a bargain post about a 10-cent item. Can't we all agree that we are equally pathetic?

        • @kahn:
Oh! But I was having fun.
It's a long way to nearest bar or restaurant from my tiny village in Japan & no one would understand me there either, so this is the next best thing😀

Yes, but I think any discussion of the 'stupidity' of not taking out insurance was totally off topic.

10c you say… But it's not the money, it's the principle! Lol. (It's the great Yamazake.)
But it's the most English conversation I've had in days.

          Signed,
          Pathetic in paradise🎏

It is a matter of stupidity when you don't have the funds to replace your assets.

~15% of homes are uninsured. This is stupid.

        • @Infidel:

It is the extreme minority of the population with barely enough funds to pay for necessities, that become fodder for the ratings hungry current affairs shows

What current affairs are you talking about?

And that's where you gather your data to back your ludicrous claims!

Where did I say that, news coverage of house fires mention insurance coverage, statistics on houses insured are readily available especially after bush fires/storms/flooding and insurance companies release statistics on the underinsured.

My very rich clients taught me their disdain for often useless insurance policies.

What does this have to do with the other 99% of the population that don't have millions in their bank to cover their assets and liabilities?

        • @Maverick-au:
Many don't have the funds to buy assets in the first place. So seems stupid discussing this, especially in this cheap deal.

          Don't miss out…
          Forget the house, the kids…
Buy an asset NOW for 10c, but don't forget to insure it! Maverick-au says you'd be stupid not to😯

          I've laughed enough.

    • Insurance didn't show or charge on mobile site. Missed the simple joy of opting out to save money :-)

  • Seems to be an ideal way to have your finger broken or degloved if someone snatches your phone, so if you're in Melbourne it might be a good idea to pass on this.

  • Bought without hesitation

can't say no to 10c deal. have one of these on my phone and use it a lot while gaming

Thank you very much. I was going to buy this anyway. What a bargain.
How do they even make money out of this? Really? It would even cost more than 10c just for shipping alone.

    • that is secret.

    • Ahh but how many don't see the insurance box and pay for that.

  • this is cheap, but i had one before and the part that attached ring to the base will become loose after few weeks (will not make your phone falls to the ground, but you cant make your phone in stand up mode like in the picture).

the ones a bit more expensive, last longer (months or years).
