    Rep…..Bought one of these in the last offer at $199.
    Still gets stuck on the steps on my pool, just like all the others I've tried.
    Can I get a better/bigger deflector ring from anywhere?

        I'm back to using my old Hayward Navigator. The problem with it is every year you need to spend well over $100 on parts for it. Great cleaner that never gets stuck though, because it has a gearbox inside that mechanically revolves it.After it needed parts this year , I thought I would try one of these as it costs about the same as I had to spend on parts, bad idea.
        Also if anyone has a house that uses the pool as part of the footing (house sits directly on edge of pool) the sound of this type of cleaner transmits through the house. Pretty annoying.

    If you want a cheap but functional pool vac consider this one on eBay for $92.99 delivered (sometimes less at auction). Works well on any smooth hard lined pool. It has just one moving part, a flapper valve, so it's very durable. I've been using the same for four years. A few tips: 1. tether the hose in the middle of a pool sidewall to stop the vac head stalling on steps at the end of the pool. 2. put some mesh (I use a piece of gutter guard) over the skimmer box inlet to stop large leaves floating in and blocking the bypass valve. 3.when the sectional hose gives out after about 18 months, don't try to buy replacement parts (you'll get stung!!), just buy a whole new vac!!

        Adjust the flow rate down (bypass valve) to keep the vac on the pool floor and try tethering the hose mid point of the long pool wall to change sweep pattern. Mine gets to most of the floor .. :-) .. !!
